Saints Mystery

The last time the Saints opened a season with so much uncertainty was Payton's first year in 2006, when the roster was being overhauled to start a rebuilding campaign.

Usually I can project 48 to 50 players on the final 53-man roster before camp even starts. Not this year. Of the 90-man roster, 70 players have legitimate shots to make the team.

It all adds up to a Magical Mystery Tour

Hope the Saints have a couple of cases of the Eye Glasses With Fake Nose & Mustache to "sneak" people though waivers!

Things will be different with the coaching changes and I think all of those were upgrades. That is where it all starts. If it was the same coaches it would be the same results IMO.

Re: Saints Mystery

If our young interior D Line stays healthy & takes a step forward from their experience, we're looking at a much improved defense. Otherwise we continue getting gashed in the run game, QBs still having time to spot receivers, and teams still ticking up the score. Rankins / Onyemata / Davison are the keys for a pretty successful 2017 Saints team, IMHO. If we can get better at getting 3rd down stops (unlike the last couple of years), those 7 points or less losses start becoming wins.

I think the new coaches are going to bring things out of certain players we haven't seen before. This is why I haven't given up on Anthony yet. I think proper coaching will draw out his potential.

Isn't that a good thing? New coaches to train and evaluate a bunch of young and new players? Especially when we compare it to the past few years?

Good thing our QB isn't.

Heard someone on NFL Radio earlier this week talking about the new trend will be QB's commonly playing into their 40's because of the new rules, training techniques, nutrition and medical care. Where have I heard that before? ;-)
