Shotgun snaps continue to be an issue for Saints in training camp

This is why losing starters is never good. Unger is a top flight center and we do not want to do without him. Hope he is back according to time frame previously provided.

Didn't Kelemente stand in at center at one point? When is he due back?

run the ball and use play action till Unger comes back. Draft an OC to groom next year.

I think everyone wants the Saints to run the ball week 1 anyway.

Nope. Not me! A forty burger should be on the menu from the get go.

LeRibeus probably not going to cut it. Not good news but Unger will be back and we should get a pinch center out of it so meh...still some time left.

All I hear though is the long snaps? Seem like the run blocking is fine?

Know the team is not compelled by league rules as they're req'd during season to disclose injury information, but there's no word on our key backup interior lineman, Senio Kelemete...

Me too. I long for the days of 40 and 50 burgers week in and week out. It helps our defense also.:bng:

I love the 40 burgers too but for week 1, I'd like to see AP put up 150 on the Vikings on prime time.

For me, I'm actually tired of the shoot outs. You can't outscore everyone. What happened to those 20-10 type scores?

Since you put it that way, if he does that a couple of times early in the season, everyone we play'll be looking over their shoulders regardless of which way they're facing on the field.

AP doesn't run well from the shotgun, he needs an i-formation to maximize his abilities.

That was one of the problems with Norv Turner's playbook in Minnesota.

saints have lived in the shot gun. Getting Drew under center and going with a more traditional set and try to pound the rock to set up the pass will cause teams to open up the field and cut down on stupid mistakes.

The OL is built for this and it is time to use them to their strength

once the OL is back to all starters on board then start using the shot gun more.

this will pay off down the road.

Payton's going to literally snap with a shotgun. Centers take cover.

Those don't work against elite offenses.

And then what happens week 2 against NE?

It will all get fixed.

Re: Shotgun snaps continue to be an issue for Saints in training camp

Between Unger & Senio we're great at Center; reports on Unger are positive though there's no visible evidence as of yet; Senio is back but there's no word on what his issues had been...

Concerns will dissipate once both are running and gunning on the field...
