Can't get over how much weight he's added in less than a year...

To be recovering from blowing his knee out a second time and then to add between 20-25 lbs is just...wow...

No, JP. That was the first time he's injured that knee. Both of the others were on he other.

Edit: Letting all know I was wrong on this. Bad info months back. I apologize.

Found it. Both are wrong. I can't do basic arithmetic - it was two, plus this one. Thought I had just read about this...

"...Kikaha appreciates why many would wonder if he can regain peak form following a third left anterior cruciate ligament tear since college, so he doesn't take offense to the skepticism surrounding his comeback..."

Gotta admit... I thought his career was over. Three ACL surgeries on the same knee?! Forget it. I don't know if he'll hold up going forward but the fact that he's made it back to this point is just incredible. The guy is really making a run at being a starter.

I just hope his luck is more of Thomas Davis and not D Ellerbe.

I had no doubt about his ability. I just hope he holds up. If he does he will be very good.

Um no. Do your research like you so quickly tell everyone else.

You're right. Not sure where I had read it was the other knee in college.

Yup. The third repair of Davis' right knee seems to have held. His third one was back in 2011 and he's still going strong.

I think his second surgery was to finish an improper initial surgery and was not major.

Read the same. That's correct.

Maybe we'll finally have a solid pass rush rotation this season! I can't wait to see both Kikiha and Okafor in action. I can always tell how good we're going to be by the 2nd and 3rd preseason game...I'm remaining optimistic. Let's go Kiki.

Corners stay healthy and we don't really need a solid pass rush. Any sort of pass rush will be better than in the past. Every play last year was up to the DBs. Can't wait to see them with even a little better pass rush. If we have a solid pash rush this defense could be fun to watch again. Especially with the turnovers we are seeing in camp. If any positive came from last year it's the fact that even the backup corners had to learn to play on an island. Chalk last year up to 16 games of 1 on 1 practice for the corners.

I actually think we're deep at corner.

We are but I'm not sold on the ability of Breaux, Swann, and PJ staying healthy I doubt they all make it anyway. I do believe we have more quality depth than we did last year. With our injury history there we need to keep as many as we can.

Still have serious concerns about him not only playing on a recovering knee, but a knee that is now carrying, supporting an add'l 20-25 lbs...That's tremendous!!!

Would love to chat with the doctors and kinesiologists involved, maybe one day attend a case study on the particulars because this is beyond the scope of what is normally seen in these ACL treatments...

Need to hold our breath on both the Hau and AP injury recoveries.

Peterson's recovery doesn't worry me in the least. It was only a meniscus tear repair. It wasn't anything near as major as a ligament tear. It does not affect the stability of the knee at all. I had the exact same surgery by a sport surgeon about 15 years ago and never had any issue with it again. I walked out of the surgery and never needed anything like a cane or crutch. It hurt for awhile, but it really didn't hamper me much. In fact, he told me that some players like linemen can return to playing in two weeks ... with medication, of course.

Saw this and remembered that point when Payton discussed his selection in the draft...
