Re: Aguayo: Should we kick the tires on this one?
No. If Lutz went down I'd rather sign some unemployed old fart veteran kicker like Shayne Graham who is less chance of being a disaster.

Re: Aguayo: Should we kick the tires on this one?
Aguayo looking like a bust. IIRC, the Pirates traded up to get this guy.
Nice. |
Re: Aguayo: Should we kick the tires on this one?
Payton has picked the wrong guy before and Washington got themselves a heck of a kicker.
Do not tempt fate, let's stick with Lutz. |
Re: Aguayo: Should we kick the tires on this one?
I'd bring in a punter before I'd bring in a place kicker...

Re: Aguayo: Should we kick the tires on this one?
We have a kicker... its a waste of time.

Re: Aguayo: Should we kick the tires on this one?
Just proves in most cases to never draft a kicker, if there is a real need then no higher than a 5th round pick.

Not no, but hell no.

Re: Aguayo: Should we kick the tires on this one?
It's not like we never wasted a second round pick before...........just sayin'. :p
Lutz' kicking game improved when O'dea came on board toward the end of last year. He's a keeper. Thank God McMahon is not coaching special teams anymore. |
Re: Aguayo: Should we kick the tires on this one?
Aguayo had the worst percentage in the league last season (on five or more attempts). A full 4% lower than the next above him. Backup kickers had better success than he did.
32. Dan Carpenter 76% 33. Chandler Catanzaro 75% 34. Blair Walsh 75% 35. Robert Aguayo 71% A team would really have to be hurtin to sign him. |
