Hell yes. I get that it's only preseason, but you can't tell me some of what is going on in preseason isn't going to translate into the season itself.

This defense is much better than what we've had the last few years. I'm optimistic as hell. I think our LBs are better, our defensive line looks better, the DBs look better.

No matter what, a defense is never good if it doesn't have an identity. And I think these guys are gelling and starting to find that identity. I haven't seen that in a long time.

I think we have more depth from starters to backups than we have ever had in the Payton era. Perhaps even in franchise history.

14, 15 and 16, we were bad in the preseason and awful in the regular season, that certainly carried over from preseason

Now our D looks very stout, hell yeah I'm excited!

For the first time in 4-5 years, I was actually excited when our D came out onto the field.
