Armstead was activated from the PUP list on Saturday, however, and that suggests the Saints believe, at the very least, that he’ll be back able to start practicing before their October 15 game against the Lions. With a bye in Week Five, Armstead’s absence from the lineup could be a minimal one if he’s back on the field earlier than that.

Doesn't matter. You can't take back guaranteed money. The leverage occurs when the guaranteed dollars run out. $38 million of his current contract is guaranteed. The money doesn't flip until after the 2018 season.

So like I said, it doesn't matter if he deserves the money or not. It's already been paid out and it'll cost the Saints more to get rid of him than to keep him even if he's injured.

BTW Armstead is a really good left tackle when he is available. The only problem is his availability.

Great question. I'm guessing he'll miss at least three or four games. He does it every year. Dang!

Looks like another money grab to me. Almost every time we pay someone they never produce. I am sure it happens to other teams but I think we are the most snake bitten team there is. I am no longer a believer in Terron and why play when you can walk away with that kind of money.

Um, a torn labrum isn't a soft tissue injury that can be faked. Even with the crappy doctors the Saints finally fired, any trainer or doctor reading an MRI of Armstead's shoulder can see a significant injury.

It sucks that Armstead cannot seem to get completely healthy. However, there's nothing to indicate that the guy doesn't have the drive to come back and be one of the top left tackles in the league.

One last point. That tear is similar to the injury Brees had in 2006. So if anyone in the Saints organization knows that it's better to be healthy to play after that injury, it's Brees. I'm sure he wouldn't want Armstead out there trying to protect him until he's ready.

I think that injuries are just a part of the game . Armstead is a top player at his position . We will be much better if he gets healthy and plays . I think that this hate is un warranted. He elevates our whole OL and is worth he contract if he returns to pre injury status.
