Kuhn isn't subject to the waivers process at this point of the season. He would have to actively sign with another team.

You can bet the situation was explained to him before the announcement.

Man. That's got to be tough knowing that you will be cut and hopefully brought back. Hs roster spot is probably very safe once the initial flurry of signings finishes. Especially since we don't already have his replacement on the roster.
