Fact is, the last 3 years, the Saints defense has been at the bottom of the league in just about everything.

The other fact is, until you don't prove it on the field when it counts, everything is just speculation.

And third, it's freaking fantasy.

And the other fact is that only two defensive players remain from two years ago and two of the three defensive coaches are new this season and the third wasn't here two years ago. Therefore, basing anything upon what happened three or two or even one year ago has very little bearing upon what will happen this year.

That is the point I was trying to make. People are lazy.

From 2 years ago, off the top of my head, Jordan, Vaccaro, Kikaha, Anthony, Breaux were on the roster, so your first "fact" isn't a fact.

Then you omitted last year... why?

We all know that things can change in the NFL from one year to the other, and players/coaches come and go... BUT, again, you have to prove it on the field of play when it counts. And it's been a long time since the Saints fielded a decent defense. And until they field a decent defense when it counts, no one is going to acknowledge them for it.

And again, it is freaking fantasy. You are getting all worked up over what freaking fantasy "analysts" say.

My meaning was only two defensive players remain from before two years ago. 2014. The first year of the 7-9 run. Since then the defensive roster has undergone a 92.3% turnover and the defensive coaching staff has a full 100% turnover. The current defensive makeup in no way resembles what has been on the field over the past three years.

Last year is obvious. The top SIX corners lost for the season. A starting safety lost for the final four games. The first round defensive pick lost for the first half of the season to a broken leg. The 2nd round pass rushing pick from the previous year lost for the season to a torn ACL. The starting LB's were all slow. The DL and LB coaching staffs were idiots.

And I am not getting worked up over what fantasy "analysts" are saying. I said that the few shows I have followed leading up to the drafts reflected the same shortsightedness I have been seeing across the main portion of mainstream media.

Several of us around here have been noting the copious number of marked improvement being made in the player personnel and especially in the coaching staff of the Saints defensive unit over the off-season. Those improvements were obvious in the preseason play of the squad.

What part of this do you not see?

Oh, so 3 years ago. Ok...

Ok.

Posting a thread about what fantasy analysts say with "lack of respect" in the title suggests otherwise.

I saw it all during PRESEASON. I liked it, and I do think they may have something, and surely hope what we saw translates into the regular season, but until they walk the walk when it counts, I don't fault anyone for thinking they may not be good, given the track record.
