It really is, but seriously, is there a HOF coach with a magic wand who can cure injuries and reverse bad draft picks hanging on the clearance rack in Week 2 of the season?

First two come to mind.
There's not a one of these guys I'd want as HC as we'd have to reset the clock five years to possibly compete for a title...

First of all, it'd take two years to get a system in place, and that's assuming Brees stays or you draft an uber rookie QB who can start from Day 1...

The only organizational moves you can make at this time that would resonate within the organization and have some impact start at the very top...

Dennis Lauscha and Mickey Loomis are out. Period; Jeff Ireland is promoted to General Manager, assumes all final personnel decision making...

Coach Payton has his responsibilities focused, concentrated strictly on player development, game planning; he'd likely retire, resign...

Keep restrictions on him moving to another team (we get draft picks, not allowed to go to certain teams) we've paid him enough and should have that control...

Should Payton retire, Dan Campbell is interim HC, and gets his audition; Dennis Allen is out. Jeff Ireland promotes Mike Nolan to DC...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

What's amazing, I saw a few guys just going through the motions in week one. Today was worse. Several guys have already checked out. Losing hurts. But, having no passion and fire is impossible to watch.

Re: Saints vs Patriots Gameday Thread

I personally dont think the whole team and coaches need to be blown up. I really like our core pieces on both sides of the ball. I would however like to see Payton and DA fired and let the new coach pick his new 4-3 DC. let Carmichael and Brees control the offense. Try that for a season and go from there. Its weird though,Payton comes across as an arrogant a hole who seems to have lost his team seasons ago,but players seem to want to remain here. Maybe because Bree's is here I guess...

Re: Saints vs Patriots Gameday Thread

Firing Loomis could get messy, since he has oversight on both the Saints and the Pelicans. Would it mean Dell Demps is gone too? And is there a good time for both NFL/NBA to make those firings and have people in place to cover both?

Dennis Allen will be the first guy to go anyway, if recent history with Rob Ryan is any example.

Also, I'm not sure if I trust Ireland as full GM. It got messy for him in Miami. Might be safer to bring in someone new.

You do realize we're talking about a rookie linebacker, in his second game, covering an All-Pro TE in Gronkowski with a Five-Time Superbowl Champion, GOAT QB Tom Brady throwing to him?

Qualifying his status as a rookie, I think Anzalone's play has been impressive in his first two NFL games...

8 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 pass defended. He's OK.

Re: Saints vs Patriots Gameday Thread

After playing Minnesota and the Patriots, the Saints defense has allowed 1025 yards of offense. One thousand, twenty five yards (we are currently ranked 32nd). Let that sink in for a second. We have a lot of 1st & second rounders starting on D & I know this current team has talent.

It starts with Coach Sean Payton though.
