#1 Draft Pick

Is it too early yet? I feel a little guilty even posting this? Honestly besides more beef up front, I don't even know where to go first based on today's and last week's performance.

Now you know we will win just enough games to get us out the top 10.... it never fails haha

Are we competing with the jets for quarterback

Saints will probably need to go QB in round 1.

Re: #1 Draft Pick

Trade Ingram, he's got value. We have Edmunds, Kamara, and always find decent backs when we need them maybe Victor if he's still around. It's not like Payton runs the ball anyway so it won't hurt without him.
See if you can get a couple more players worth value to trade. Stockpile draft picks via trading late rounds and players.
Find our next QB. Do what it takes to get someone opposite Jordon who can play every snap in FA.
Boot Payton or tie his hands so Carmichael can call plays.
I don't care about "getting there maybe next.year".
Get fresh blood at QB. Drews old and it's showing.

Re: #1 Draft Pick

For the Ingram idea: Great value in his prime with plenty of game left. Go all Herschel Walker with it. If we're gonna blow this up, get picks to add the Big Uglies.

How do you reboot a dumpster fire? Talent in the trenches. Doesn't always work, but there's a better chance for long term success with this model.

CAVEAT: No, I certainly haven't given up on 2017. I just like working the hypotheticals in my sick tiny mind.

Yeah its to early. I don't see us with the 1st pick I see us at 4th or 5th thought.

Some teams have had a jump start on us for tanking the season to get that pick. Jets for one.

We need to do what we need to to draft BAKER MANSFIELD.

In the first three games this season:

19 of 20 for 329 (95% completion percentage) 3 TDs - 0 Ints = UTEP

27 of 35 for 386 (77% completion percentage) 3 TDs - 0 Ints = Ohio State

17 of 27 for 331 (63% completion percentage) 4 TDs - 0 Ints = Tulane

I kinda like Luke but the Washington State legend Ryan Falling Leaf scares me!

We'll probably wind up 7-9 again and just miss out on impact players picking in the middle of the pack.

We really need the space eater next to Rankins to free him up a little so he can finally get there.

The trouble is we don't have a 2nd round pick because of trading up to get Kamara, which could prove costly.

We throw around draft picks like discards in a poker game.

He is my other QB in round 1.

But I am still not giving up hope we can manage a season were we pick no higher than 15. If we are in the top 15 he is the man. He has that skill set to open up the field even more than Drew down the road. He has a ton of starting time also and yet his progression in his reads needs work IMO. That is my #1 concern with him. If he can improve on that, the sky is the limit. Drew is the perfect mentor for him. He reminds of me David Carr.

Ryan was a gun slinger with the upside hype of being able to grow mentally into a pro QB. well we all know what a head case he was. his own worse enemy was his press clippings.

Luke does not come across that way and he is a smart kid. No way should he start year one. But he has all the skill sets to make the Drew transition as painless as possible. He reminds me of Drew coming out of college and even Drew had to sit. My issues with Luke is hesitation with routes over the middle between the strips. Most of his Ints are in this area. At times he just does thread the needle when the window is too small. Faith in himself or in his WR? That maybe the issue. He could be a lights out QB that will always have a decent number of Int his whole career . That is an interview thing and evaluating the 6 inches between his ears. if so he can be a carbon copy of Drew. So the Saints offense would not change that much.
