Maybe not the best but still informative to a degree

Personally came into the season with huge hopes believing our D would actually function as a productive force finally.

While I'm dissapointed and pissed as many of us are... I remain optimistic
Maybe Im reaching too far but this actually gave me hope that this thing may possibly get turned around with corrections being made...

This video actually helped me for some odd reason giving me at least a small glimpse of hope

Interesting how many "Bad" teams got their first win today

That is the beaut of the parity the salary cap brings. The talent level between teams is so close that is hard to keep a team winless for long.

Bringing back the 3 safety set seems to be a positive. It helps mask the never ending issues with coverage and poor linebacker play.

Agreed, the more physical heavy nickel with safeties vs using corners seem to be a positive against the Panthers...

And even Vaccaro with probably less responsibility was able to make his reas quicker and create some plays...

Lattimore is back and Crawley is a regular.

I'd agree the Heavy Nickel has had a positive impact, but I think our linebacker play is much improved,

...especially when you consider we've got a rookie learning a new linebacking position as a rookie in the NFL...

plus, safeties can take more abuse than smaller cornerbacks can...

And before last week's game we promoted 34 - Justin Hardee (2017 UDFA HOU), a converted RB to CB, and 37 - Arthur Maulet (2017 UDFA NO); Maulet was waived, cleared waivers, and is now back on the Practice Squad...

I'm pretty sure that Anzalone played some WLB at Florida, as well.

Well it aint much but after week 3 the Saints aren't the worst defense in the league.

31st in total yards given up
30th in passing yards given up
30th in points given up
24th in rushing yards given up
t-18th in passes defended
t-17th in sacks
t-15th in total take aways
t-8th in interseptions

I know it's not much but it's a million times better than after week 2. We were historically bad.

Let's keep it up defense!

I don't care about yards given up, the only stat I think has a direct outcome is points allowed. If we bring that down, we are in business.

t-15th in total take aways

Extremely important stat. Few teams make the playoffs with a negative turnover ratio. A healthy plus/minus ratio often leads to post season success.

Keep grinding.
