That play when he just slammed the Panthers defender to the ground with a stiff arm got me so loud that the neighbours complained.

It started out with a six yard pass to set up a makeable running 1st down. the 1st drive was made up of seven passes and six runs including the TD pass to Thomas. Our strength is the short passing game. When used it softens up the front and opens up the running game. Our offense has always run the best when the opponent has to respect the pass.

Seven of our next eight plays were pass plays including the TD pass to Coleman. Five of the next eight plays were runs setting up the FG at the half. Then the second half was led off by an eight play 75 yard TD drive with five passes (68 yards) and three running plays (7 yards) including the 40 bomb to Ginn.

The success in the short and intermediate passing game led to the later success of the run.

At least that's the way I saw it.

I may not have been clear at freaking 4am and one cup of coffee.

In this game your right. Pass was used to set up the run more than the other way around

I will be happy when the saints can pound the rock to set up play action passing attack.

I saw a solid step forward to achieve that goal. The OL worked well together. still needs work but it was a huge improvement.

Having Zach and Terron back will be huge

In response to the thread title: no.

But imagine the possibilities. You could conceivably win any road game in any weather. Dream on, dream on~

I would love to see a drive with all of them in a 3 back set.

I loved that when it happened! :-)

From the player profiles that I remember we are actually a better run blocking team rather than a pass blocking team, which has been our staple over the years.

I think the rushing stats for this game are a bit misleading.

Take out the 25 yard run at the very end of the game when the Panthers had packed it in, we had only 101 yards from our running backs with both Peterson and Ingram combined averaging less than 4 yards a carry.

It was better, but not great. I still think we're struggling to run the ball. I think it has to do with tipping our hands with formations and personnel and just plain substandard run blocking.

I'm not convinced we'll ever be a run/pass balanced offensive attack at any point this season.

As far as the O-Line, it looked great against an imposing front seven of the Panthers. If they continue to improve as they did between weeks two and three, I feel real good about them. Kelemente was over-matched a couple times yesterday. But, the dude competes.

I saw AP make some bruising runs through defenders. Ingram mostly ran through holes and through the air.

Week 6 is gonna be especially important for AP. We need to feature him in that game.
