Dolphins Sputtering Offense gets chance against Saints Defense
Dolphins Sputtering Offense gets chance against Saints Defense
Michael Hernandez The Miami Dolphins will take on the New Orleans Saints in London this Sunday, and 1 thing is abundantly clear: this offense needs to get going. In the two games the Dolphins have played this season, the offense has scored only two touchdowns. Both of those coming from Jay Cutler passes. To put that in perspective, the 12 points Cutler has scored... kicker Cody Parkey has outdone with his 13 points from the 4 field goals and 1 extra point he made in the Dolphins first game against the Chargers in Week 2. Needless to say (although I'm going to say it anyway), the Dolphins will have to score more than 1 touchdown to beat this Saints team in merry old London. Not only will they have to score more than 1 touchdown, the Dolphins may have to quadruple their average of 1 touchdown per game in order to win Sunday's matchup. Drew Brees and the Saints offense are currently averaging 24.3 points per game which is currently ranked 11th in the NFL. The Dolphins however, are averaging a dismal 12.5 points/G (30th) which is good enough to be ranked ahead of only 2 two teams: New York Giants (12.3 points/G) and the Cincinnati Bengals (11 points/G). The Saints also outrank the Dolphins in total offensive yards per game and its not even close: 378.3 (6th) to 280.5 (27th). The good news? Miami's offense will have an opportunity to start clicking against a Saints defense that is ranked 30th against the pass and 24th against the run. This should allow head coach Adam Gase and the offense to play to their strength's (at least for a quarter or two): running the ball with Jay Ajayi and using Jay Cutler's arm off playaction. https://scout.com/nfl/dolphins/Artic...ense-108127715 |

We better not let Jay Ajiyai go dumb on us...I expect 3 picks on Jay Cutler or it's a fail!

Re: Dolphins Sputtering Offense gets chance against Saints Defense
I saw a little bit of the Jets/Dolphins last week.
The Fins were outplayed in just about every aspect of the game. Their O line (Ajay had no where to run) was destroyed up front & Cutler was off target on a lot of passes. I'm not taking the bait though. Dolphins aren't as bad as what they showed last Sunday... specifically on defense. Saints need to step on the throat of Cutler early and often. |
Re: Dolphins Sputtering Offense gets chance against Saints Defense
If Drew gets time, he should slaughter their secondary... I see a lot of outside runs and screens to spread them out and then it's mismatch city.
And having Snead back should help desperately on those third downs! |
Re: Dolphins Sputtering Offense gets chance against Saints Defense
We need to prove that we can win when we are supposed to. It's been a while since I've seen that.

Re: Dolphins Sputtering Offense gets chance against Saints Defense
Right now I'm thinking Cam Jordan and 3 Clemson defensive linemen would be a pretty amazing line!
