Along with the rest of us.

Sometimes when players are benched they tend to sulk and pout. Ken did the exact opposite. He's been a dawg. I'm just glad coaches decided to make this move now rather than later.

Jabari Greer 2.0?

From what I've read...
Our 1st 2 games we played mostly zone... Harris> Crawley
Our last 2 games we played mostly man... Crawley> Harris

I think our base defense going forward will be mostly man, so Crawley should see more PT than Harris.

But again, I'm just a wannabe coach. Just my opinion

If the game play was zone why Harris was burnt on when they were playing man. Bradford wasn't looking for the open receiver he was looking for who Harris was covering

Yeah at this point I'd have to say any bum off the street > Harris. He looked like 2 week old microwaved garbage left on the side of the highway in mid July

Bad pass and/or Bad effort by the TE = INT

He played well and should see the field but hold back on the props

Lattimore and Crawley are man guys. And they compete. Man defense simplifies things. The three safety look has worked as well. Lattimore, Crawley, Vaccaro, Williams and Bell are the 5 best DB's the Saints have. I don't know what PJ's issues are, the guy has talent, but Crawley deserves to stay on the field.

We should have been running man most of the time anyway.

Marshon Lattimore - Man > Zone
Ken Crawley - Man > Zone
P.J. Williams - Man > Zone
Delvin Breaux - Man > Zone

Question for the forum, how good will our secondary be when we have all four of these corners available?

C'mon Hagan, Ken has played well. His true test will come on Oct 15 vs Highland Park.

They'll be as good as the pass rush that complements them, but the personnel talent level is no longer unsatisfactory...

Lattimore, without a doubt is the truth and the only limits, concerns on his stellar play and repid development will be his past health cropping up...

Crawley has done nothing but continue to improve and elevate his play since he put on a Saints uniform, his haters are no where to be found now...

PJ Williams is a near clone of Tracy Porter and will provide good solid play at the position and will from time to time elevate his game in spurts...

I don't see Breaux back to his peak this season, but likely having some impact in spelling, rotating with the corners, keeping them horses fresh...

Keep PJ in the slot ... he's been effective there. Lattimore & Crawley on the boundaries until further notice.

And the three safety sets seem to be effective as well...Raphael Bush had an amazingly timed sack and tackle...

Even in Portuguese, Crawley's play has been exemplary...

Talk about an impact play.

Imagine the Dolphins get 7 on what was a very impressive drive.

Totally changes the mindset and this game probably goes down to the wire.

It's the biggest impact play I've seen on defense in the past 3+ years.

I agree, we played man all pre-season and looked great, made absolutely no sense to change that up.

IMO- Lattimore and Crawley have earned the starting spots. Both are playing at shutdown levels. Looking back at our sacks this week, most came from solid coverage.

Man, I feel like we're one dominant DE away from being a really good D

That really did seem to take every thing out of them. Or, did it just put everything in us?

Guess it's really nice to be on the other side of that scenario...

At this point if Crowley keeps it up it will make it a difficult decision to put Breaux back in as a starter.

Re: Ken Crawley's interception against Miami caps impressive individual comeback after starting season on bench

First of all Crawley is the real deal. Miami took the opening kickoff and were driving down the field like weve seen a million times when Cutler put one up and Crawley snags it. He didnt stop there either. He almost got another one too and he got his hands on other throws too. If nothing else Crawley has good hands and ball skills for sure. Hell get pushed around by bigger guys I assume but he can run and if you make a mistake hell make you pay for it. As far as tackling hell never be a big hitter but he seems to be a willing tackler.

Crawley reminds me of a younger, healthier, available Keenan Lewis...

Yeah I was saying since the first week Crawley should have started all 4 games. Mrobably would of beat the Patriots if he did. Harris, and Moore got hurt which gave jim a chance. He definitely gets the starting job. If they don't they are dumb. They are dumb enough to notvstart him all four games though.

"gel time"

I look ay the group and rate them as not bad with a huge incomplete. Delvin Breaux is the huge key to knowing were we stand. The secondary needs "gel time" as a unit. Playing time as a unit will cure most of their issues.

"you can never have enough good CB"

So I am always looking and the draft has some solid options in it on day two and three. FA should have some solid options also. I expect to see a few more new faces in 2018.

So CB Ken Crawley is safe and he is proving his worth with every game. But adding more talent is always welcomed

SS has been on my off season needs list since before we drafted Kenny.

Right now I am more concerned with SS than CB. Bell is trade bait still IMO. Is Kenny Vaccaro worth 4/21M contract? That is the FA question of 2018. Would not bother me at all

Kenny is a great pest as a third safety but Bell is turning into a carbon copy of Kenny but not nearly as good. I had him peg in the draft completely different. IMO because he is a major handicap at FS/ So keep him in the box and use what he is good at and cover up what he lacks. Thus another Kenny.

But adding a SS with coverage skills that can drop into the slot will greatly improve this secondary. Kenny is not the answer and neither is a WLB.

A FA seasoned vet with proven leadership and skills would be perfect for such a young secondary but the money will be step 4yr $32M range.

Morgan Burnett SS/FS/CB Packers 6013 209 4.51

Which brings back to. Is Kenny Vaccaro worth 4/21M contract? For me it is a hard question. Kenny and Burnett would be a great pairing. Talk about coaching up Williams at FS.

so I look to the draft

Ronnie Harrison SS/FS/CB Alabama 6011 214 4.54 #15 Jr

This is the key IMO the saints secondary has been missing for years and these two would be great answers to that need.

SS is the biggest bang for the buck or pick in 2018 for this defense.

SS/FS is wide open for upgrading.

CB I feel very optimistic but they need a change in luck and a healthy run of games

After losing Nick Fairley I believe that DT is a more pressing need.

To be fair to Harris, they were saying all camp that he was having a great one.

But look at the results, gotta stick with Crawley and man to man.
