Maybe finished period. He's had a great run!

Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
I hate NFL.com.
Especially since the league has it's own news/ propaganda/ PR machine. |
Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
Hope he recovers he would be very solid depth next year if we restructure his contract right. He was top 3-5 lineman last year. Age and injury are catching up quick but at the right price he knows the system, has been consistent and could be get solid number two next year.

Get well Zach.

Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
I will be very sad to see him go, if that's what happens. Praying for him.

Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
I thought I heard he was thinking of retirement before this season. Was that a thing? Or am I remembering wrong?

I hope he's done for his family's sake, I mean he's literally being held together by braces of all shapes and sizes. Great run Strief!

Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
They didn’t have to rush him back like this. Ramcyzk was doing fine in his absence and the combination of Peat and Kelemente was holding up. I’m excited to see what our line looks like when Armstead gets back. Let’s give it up to Larry Warford for being our best lineman so far this season. He doesn’t get talked about enough.

Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
I will believe it it when strief says it.
Your right no need to rush him. That was the first thing I said when he took to the field. |
Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
I would have let him be the backup yesterday. But, he was having a great game and looked to bee 100 percent healthy. That being said, the staff rushed Breaux back last year and who really knows about his career now. Props to Peat and Ram. They line up and compete.

He's been a tremendous leader and one of the true, constant bright spots of this team since he was drafted as a 7th round pick... Looking at his build, bulk vs his the muscular size in his legs, I don't see him coming back at this point of his career to prove anything... Hope he works hard to get rid of that dead bulk on his body and enjoy a good quality of life and success in his business post-NFL... |
Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
Let's see what the reports say today. He may have a sprain that can heal over the next few weeks so he can finish 2017 and retire. We should have Armstead back after the bye so Ram can start at RT with Strief coming back later in the season if we make a wildcard berth. I've had both knees reconstructed from football. I can take a misstep after changing a light bulb that's so painful I can't walk for the rest of the day and 3 days later I'm fine.

Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
Ram looks great at RT, it's time. We'll come back from the bye with Armstead and Ramczyk hopefully manning the tackle positions for the next 10+ years.

When he does get healthy, might be the time to return Strief to the tackle-eligible role and let the young pups Armstead/Peat/Ram handle the starting tackle spots.

Well, the two go together when it comes to O-linemen. |
Re: Could Strief be finished with the Saints
His knee wasn't bent backwards.
In fact when you watch the replay he appears to do a very good job of lifting his leg as soon as he feels contact vs it getting pinned and getting seriously injured. My guess is this is a minor issue and he'll be back in two weeks. |
