Saints Bye Week History

I recently uploaded this graphic to a page on my site dedicated to NFL bye weeks and thought you guys would like it.

The infographic details how well the Saints have performed historically following a bye week (last 5 years) and also how well they play against other teams returning from a bye week.

Re: Saints Bye Week History

What was going to be considered the easier part of the schedule certainly looks more daunting...

Detroit clobbered us the last time we came off a BYE and played the Lions, so that's a concern...

The Lions just beat Minnesota 14-7 in an ugly death-cage match fight, where the Vikes lost Dalvin Cook...

Looks like we're gonna need the BYE week to scout and take these Lions very seriously as a balanced threat...

We survived what I thought was murders row in the first four games. Our opponents are playing good football now and there are only a couple of games where we'll be the favorites. It's going to be tough staying above .500 but I believe that we've got the talent to win close games. We are obviously a better team with the direction from our new coaches. Glenn in his second year has been able to develop Crawley and a couple of other players.

Still, none of these games look like a gimme'.

I believe murderers' row is just starting...Detroit is no slouch, banged up a little; then Green Bay, there, where we've not been able to get the W and they just smoked Dallas in Dallas; the Bears have taken several teams down to the last play; then the Bucs who are supposed to replace us in the NFC South Food-Chain...

This schedule, when all is said and done, will be one of the most daunting in the NFL by season's end...Either way, if we want to be the best, bring all comers...

Re: Saints Bye Week History

We are at home though and are 5-0 at home off the bye since 2007. That said, we almost lost to Carolina last year, so we're not rock solid off the bye. In all honesty, AP has a positive history against this team but he won't get enough carries and he may have lost a step. Is Kamara the answer? Lions couldn't stop Freeman.
