Saints sign G John Greco

According to multiple reports, the team is signing former Browns offensive lineman John Greco. Greco started 66 games for the Browns over the last five seasons as an interior lineman before being released as Cleveland made their final cuts at the end of the summer.

I like this signing. John still has value & much needed depth.

John Greco was a free agent? Wtf? He should be our starting LG right now! Let Peat play LT and Ram do his thing on the right side. This would absolve any doubts I had about the line.

We re-signed DT John Hughes too.

Armstead should be back after the bye week manning the LT spot. Greco, along with Kelemete, gives us some solid depth on the OL.

Until someone else goes down. The problem with the Saints really hasn't been depth, it's been the fact that we are always having our depth as starters. If we could keep more than two starters healthy at each position we would have mad depth.

Depth! Great pick up.

You got Peat that can play both LG and LT
Ram can play LT and RT
Now we got guard depth

Looking a lot better

Too bad Strief went down.

Finally the saints sign a proven veteran to the team that can fill in at multiply positions on the OL.

Greco has experience at guard, center, and right tackle.

Where Greco has shined throughout his career is as a run blocker. Last year he ranked 19th among guards with an 80.8 run blocking grade. His two best seasons were in 2014 when he earned an 86.0 run blocking grade (ranked sixth that year) and in 2012 when he put up an 85.6 run blocking grade (eighth).

In addition to playing guard, Greco has filled in at center and done a solid job.

The big unanswered question is where Greco stands on his recovery from the Lisfranc injury. Since he suffered the injury so late in the season

The Browns are going young and they will have a scrap pile worth looking at.

About time.

No reaching on him at RT is a bit uneasy for me to do.

Ah! Lisfranc! That explains the free agency.

No way rez

This is all part of the plan.

SP and ML had this in mind all along.

It will all make sense when the San Antonio Saints honor their late owner TB at halftime of their inagural home game in 2020.

And what about the contract binding the Saints to the Superdome through the 2025 season?

Hopefully can be be brought along slowly into the system and give us good depth for that inevitable injury along the O-line.
