My trip to London for the game

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some pictures and thoughts about the Saints, right after our trip to London.

Firstly, I've attached a picture from Regent street when Lance Moore was talking to the crowd. He got a great reception and I heard countless people mention how funny he was after he had finished his interview.

I even got a thumbs up from Thomas Morstead, I was stood waiting to hear Lance talk and some security guys brushed past me leading Morstead and his daughter behind the stage. I shouted to him and he turned around a gave a thumbs up to myself and my fiancé. Pretty cool moment.

I don't live in London, I'm glad I'm from North East England as I wouldn't be able to deal with so much traffic and crowds every day.

London still seems foreign to me and I've lived in England all my life - 26 years.

On to the game;

Defense, defense, defense. I certainly believe that Crawley shifted the momentum to our side, the Dolphins first drive we were a step late on every play. After Crawleys pick, they never made it past our 40 yard line for the rest of the game.

Lattimore is the real deal, De'vante Parker got annoyed with how physical Marshon was mid game and tried to start a fight with him.

In my eyes, Lattimore looks like the best man to man cover corner we've had in years. Doesn't hurt either that Crawley has matured and has played outstanding for 2 consecutive weeks.

Dennis Allen has made some good adjustments, playing more 3 safety sets is the key to our defense. Kenny is not a cover 2 guy, let Vonn Bell and Marcus Williams take that responsibility and let Vaccaro stay 5-10 yards off the line of scrimmage.

Unger had some problems snapping, I don't know what it was but Drew had to go low for a large amount of snaps and then had the one that went sailing over his head.

Walking down the london streets, people brushed past me saying things like "Brees sucks" or "Phins up." One guy every 5 minutes shouted Brees sucks at the game, until Brees threw that beautiful back shoulder ball to Ted Ginn, at which point that same guy headed for the tunnel under a cascade of "WHO DAT" chants.

I met some really nice Americans at a well known English Bar called the "Slug and Lettuce," we talked for a while as I told them how I'd been over to New Orleans and it was nice to see them doing the same in London.

The win wasn't pretty, but it was hard fought and we deserved it.

Let me know any of your thoughts or if you travelled to the game?

Click on the clip icon to attach photos, once you have uploaded them, if you click on the arrow next to the clip it attaches image on the main page, pretty sure you can only do that for one image, the rest are attached underneath.

Super glad you got to go! Sounds like it was a ball! My wife and I had talked about it but just couldn't make the trip unfortunately. She grew up in Surry. I'm with you on London. How packed was Wimbely? How well is the NFL received? Just curios.

84,000 fans at Wembley and the NFL is received very well. There were jerseys being worn by fans from all the teams in the NFL. :-)

So basically it looks like Bank of America stadium when the Panthers aren't having a good year.;)

Re: My trip to London for the game

great review and looks like you had a blast.

cover two? I see Williams way ahead of Kenny and Bell. I hate cover two as a base defense.

I been wanting a modern day cover SS for years now. This is my biggest issue on the back end.

Sign a vet like Morgan Burnett and let Kenny walk. Two would be a nice pairing in a 3 safety set but I do not see it working cap wise. Burnett wont come cheap $8M. Not sure Kenny will ever get coverage skills needed in todays NFL much less the over all speed needed. He is a in the box safety IMO. Burnett would be a great mentor for our young secondary.

Put Bell on notice by drafting Safeties the next few years to groom. So far he appears to to be a Kenny Clone. Which surprised me. I had his so so coverage skills rated higher than his tackling skills. boy was i wrong.

My trip to London was also fantastic! I met Cam Jordan on Regent Street. Nobody recognized him but me, haha.

Press on quote a message, look above the message box and you'll see Icons like Bold, Italic and underlined, look at the top row near the middle and it's the paperclip.

Seriously! I'm with you. Is there a new forum format out there and I'm still using the Flintstone one? Nowhere in my reply, quote, multi-quote, reply to thread, etc. choices do any of these options pop up. Quite honestly, I'm becoming a little jealous of Forever and Beast for being able to post up their great pictures outside of the inept poster's tiny little picture box. (Not to mention actually having the time to go out and find them!)

Well, I have lived in the UK all my life so its not too far for my wife and I to go to Wembley.

I have been to New Orleans a few times and I have seen 7 games, in the Dome, the first one being in 1992 when the mighty "Dome Patrol" were still causing havoc!

Great times indeed!

GEAUX SAINTS! :-)
