Remaining Schedule

Nice to get the two wins, but things really don't get any easier.

We'll be clear favorites (4 points or more) in 3 games: Bears, Jets, and home to TB
We'll be 4 point or more underdogs at GB and Atl, and all of the sudden our 3rd place games are tough: at Rams and vs Redskins; at Buffalo won't be easy either.

Sun, Oct 15 vs Lions
Sun, Oct 22 @ Packers
Sun, Oct 29 vs Bears
Sun, Nov 5 vs Buccaneers
Sun, Nov 12 @ Bills
Sun, Nov 19 vs Redskins
Sun, Nov 26 @ Rams
Sun, Dec 3 vs Panthers
Thu, Dec 7 @ Falcons
Sun, Dec 17 vs Jets
Sun, Dec 24 vs Falcons
Sun, Dec 31 @ Buccaneers

The only potential 'breather' is vs the Jets. Any given Sunday. This is a tough road.

Re: Remaining Schedule

No one saw the teams playing well that are left on our schedule for remainder of the season outside of several strong teams that are always a difficult opponent.

This team is young and has good coaching that will put a competitive product on the field I believe. The key will be to win the close games that we lost last year and build some momentum going forward.

We should also get a couple of injured players back and this team should be healthy after a weeks rest.

Another week five bye. Hmmmm........I guess it's good now but a few weeks later might be nice for a change.

Take a page out of Bill Bellicheck ..."all I'm focusing on is Detroit".

One game at a time.

SP will have a difficult time getting to 7-9 this season.

Payton isn't playing, the team is and they are planning on 14-2.

Were it this simple?
Neither Head Coach or General Manager would be a position in the NFL.

Exactly. Neither is a position. Just because you have a problem with the two the players and the actual games played on the field are all that matter. There were many around here claiming that the Saints were going to be 0-4 after the first two games. How right were they?

Well?

This is a totally different team from last year... I like our chances of a playoff spot

Can we stay healthier than the competition? Attrition, it's become a war of attrition...

Re: Remaining Schedule

After 12 games, I think we'll be 7-5 and giving us a win over the jets gives us 8 wins with those 3 really tough divisional games deciding if we are a divisional winner at 11-5, a playoff team at 10-6, a winning season at 9-7, or an utterly disappointing finish at 8-8.

I am a reformed Sunshiner.

IF things turn out differently this season?

I will be pleased.

If the season stays true to form and 7-9 is the outcome yet again?

So be it.

I refuse to get emotional about the same organization doing the same things with the same Leaders.

That's the whole point. They aren't doing the same thing. They have drafted far better the past two seasons. They cleaned house of subpar coaching. It is a FAR deeper squad from top to bottom. It's because of how much is different that I do not expect 7-9.

Besides, if the season was so true to form why isn't the team 0-4 as many naysayers around here were predicting?
