The Michael Thomas 'turnover'
Thomas caught the ball in his HANDS, with the ball AWAY from his body and NEVER lost control of it!
The defender made contact with Thomas as soon as he caught the ball. Thomas landed with full CONTROL of the ball and the defender's hands didn't TOUCH the ball until he rolled off of Thomas and took the ball away. How in the he!! is that an interception! |

Re: The Michael Thomas 'turnover'
I was watching without sound so I didn't hear the explanation from the referee "expert" on Fox. The only feeble rationale I could think of was this : they have put a premium on receivers keeping possession of the ball throughout the entire reception process, maybe they thought he bobbled it at the end and the Lion ended up with it.
It's horse sh*t, but it the only weak excuse I can think of. He caught the ball. He landed, his hip and butt were down. He rolled at least one or twice more while "down" then the ball came out. I was flabbergasted when they didn't over turn. |
Re: The Michael Thomas 'turnover'
it is what is and to bad refs to interpenetrate as they feel which is usually opposite of what I see

Re: The Michael Thomas 'turnover'
We got several bad calls in the game. Still won.

LikeWhoDat!656 I was just truly curious what rationale the refs (and ex-refs) gave for this decision. I gave the best explanation I could. If anyone else can help us out I would appreciate it. |
Re: The Michael Thomas 'turnover'
It was a horrible call, not mention the announcers jinxed us. As soon as they made mention of our turnover hiatus I told my dad here comes the pick. It just so happens that it was a BS call that led to it.

And bang. The very next snap. I bet that dummy in the booth was actually proud of what he figured he did... |
Re: The Michael Thomas 'turnover'
I made it to the game this week-
everyone was joking about it, saying 'what are they even looking at?' The Saints D actually ran off the field after the replay. What about the down by contact fumble when the ball was 6 feet in the air? |
Re: The Michael Thomas 'turnover'
Terrible call. Plain and simple.
