Love for Ted Ginn
I was completely unimpressed with this signing.
It looks like it was brilliant so far. |
Re: Love for Ted Ginn
That one throw was thrown into like triple quadruple coverage and he still came down with for 50...

I'll keep my fingers crossed that he keeps catching what Drew throws to him.

Re: Love for Ted Ginn
Ginn is playing great football. I will just like for him to keep the ball closer to his body on punt returns, it scare the hell out of me that someone going to snatch that ball from him
|
Re: Love for Ted Ginn
He's not playing any better. The QB is more accurate.

Re: Love for Ted Ginn
He deserves a thread like this. I like many wasn't exactly wowed by this pick-up either. I thought maybe we get a good punt return or two out of him and that he was basically a one hit wonder burner WR but he has really matured as an all around receiver. Week after week it's been fun watching him catch the balls near the line of scrimmage, balls that look like they are going no-where and watching him juke or dodge to get maximum yardage. Frankly, I would have never thought I'd ever think of him as clutch, but he has been exactly that. I never thought this was more than a one year deal, but I could see him sticking around for a few years and really contributing.

Re: Love for Ted Ginn
I don't think we hear from Snead much because Ginn starts over Snead. I'm impressed.

Brandon who?

Re: Love for Ted Ginn
I'm not surprised at all. Ginn had good years in Carolina - it only stood to reason he'd do at least as well and I figured he'd do better because Drew Brees.
He can go deep and runs more/better routes than Cooks - nothing against Cooks, he's young. I didn't figure we'd miss a beat and I did figure we might even be better off. So far, so good. |
Re: Love for Ted Ginn
I was 100% behind the signing of Ted Ginn Jr. All he needed is what all WRs need. Drew Brees.

I was for Ginn but I thought he would be no more than a decoy. The guy is producing at the same level as Brandin Cooks when targeted.

Regardless of how we're seeing it, wouldn't you agree he's quickly making us forget about old what's his name playing with the Pats? |

If we lost, I would not say that^.

Re: Love for Ted Ginn
Ted Ginn never had the luxury of playing with a good quarterback like his counterpart Santonio Holmes. We see who’s still in the league and who’s not. Ginn has always been a tremendous athlete, but the best QB he played with before now was Cam Newton, who we all know isn’t the poster child for accuracy. Yeah, Ted will drop an occasional pass, but if you use him right he’s the most dangerous weapon on the field. I saw a modified screen the Steelers ran for Antonio Brown last night that the Saints should adopt for Ginn.

Even better when you consider Ginn's YAC, way better than Cooks... |
Re: Love for Ted Ginn
I didn't like the signing. I thought Payton was sending a message to Cooks letting him know that he was just a burner and we could get one of those anywhere.
I figured Ginn would be a deep field decoy that other teams would have to respect but I didn't expect him to be as involved in any other aspects of the offense. I was wrong. Turns out he's an asset all over the field. He's more elusive after the catch than Cooks, and unlike Brandon, he's not afraid to go across the middle. |
Re: Love for Ted Ginn
He has his moments. We were lucky in Green Bay with that mishandled punt and he got away with a push off against the Bears (great veteran move based on ref position). Not sure if Drew has hit him stride yet, he is definitely is fast.
