Will, McDaniel was getting beat badly at times and was giving too much a drop-off in performance; he was a bad fit...

Point I'm illustrating is better vetting practices and an earlier effort we would have had better options in Free Agency and the Draft to get more talented help...

With regards to Zimmer, he definitely flashed, but he was not getting the reps he needed to improved his game to a level where he could be that DT3-A option...

And I didn't mentioned earlier, but Mitchell Loewen was surging playing out of his mind, until he got hurt; so there was that as well...

There were guys outplaying McDaniel on the roster already...

Special Teams ain't there yet and a reflection of the bench.

Speaking of benches DT3/NT is disappointment as most have said.
I want a proven run stopper up front for cheap in FA. Have to go after a player miscast. That is why I am beating the drum for

DaQuan Jones DT/DE Titians 6036 322 5.35 #90 R4 2014 - $2/4 M

A proven two down 34DE run stopper that eats up double teams all game long and still makes plays against the run. One on one he just shoves his blocker into the back field busting up plays and stopping QB from stepping up in the pocket. As a 34 DE pass rusher on the outside he is a wasted. Has little or no impact at all. He plays best in between the tackles beating up on guard and centers.

A perfect under valued miscast if I ever saw one. He is only 25 to boot.

What the saints have now is a bunch of want a bees sprinkled with some upside. But not one has shown the skill set to free up the players around them on the DL.

The biggest thing missing at DT?

It's the ability to keep blockers from reaching the second level picking of LB and safeties between the tackles. You can not judge your LBs truly if they are not kept clean to make plays.

3rd? way to early to really say. Lets see what Dec brings.

Spend the early picks on glamor potions and get a sand in the pants big ugly in FA.

Your going to get sick of me:deadhorse2:

Kicker - A-; Punter - A; KR/PR - C; Coverage Units - B

I'll say this, kick coverage is the best they've been since '09...

And not so much an excuse, but a matter of fact, losing Anzalone moved Robertson from ST to OLB; Stupar is out for the season; Lasco really regressed as a gunner; and we no longer have Cadet; and Mitchell Loewen is also on IR and was a terrific wedge buster...

But as you can see from my earlier post, I'm disappointed DT3, really all the DTs haven't stepped up with the rest of this defense...
