He will always be a solid special teams player and will be a solid linebacker. Smart and most importantly, he\'s a football player. Probably will never make it to to Probowl or receive millions of dollars for a contract, but he will have a long serviceable career.

he reminds me of the LB we drafted out of SMU some years back that we sent to Dallas. Bordono or something like that. Shows some promise but I am not sure he will ever be a pro bowl player.

I dont think he will ever be a Pro Bowl player. Im not quite sold on him yet, but I can see him developing into a great situational backer/reserve. I see him becoming a Chris Draft type player.

He showed promise last 4 or 5 games as a LB and was killer on special teams all year. He\'s very fast, I remember one game against Alanta (vick) was trying to turn the corner, and Colby beat him there and made the tackle. (i dont beleive Rogers would\'ve got there). I think he\'s was an upgrade from DR, but that\'s what bother\'s me. Watch, even tho CB played better then DR and we was better when he came in, we will prob still start DR next year.

I think Bockwoldt is the best LB we have.
All I know is that Bockwoldt stood out last year. I think he comes up big for us in \'05. |

Gumbo, sayin someone is our best Lb is not sayin much, since most experts have us as the 32nd rated LB core. As far as Colby, I think he should compete for starter in camp, but if we draft an OLB high....Colby will prob. be backup.

There\'s a reason Colby was a 7th rounder. He will be exploited by better teams, unless he lives in the weightroom this offseason. I think there a 4 Saintsations who could bench and squat more than Colby. ;)
I wouldn\'t ignore the WLB position just because Colby looked good in the last 4 games. But I could see us opting for a SLB type in the draft however, since we have about 8 WLB prospects on our roster right now. Blackstock, Ware, Wallace etc could get some love for the SLB spot. |

I think Colby\'s a quality special teams contributor, who can also provide good depth at a relatively inexpensive price. It\'s true he\'s raw and lacks conditioning - thus he went so late in the draft - but we have to be pleasantly surprised at his contributions in his rookie year. We got alot more production outta Colby (7th round) than Sullivan (1st round, 6th overall), Henderson (2nd round) or Leisle (5th round) combined. Pretty good pick up, in my book.
Dunno if he\'ll ever be a starter, but if he works as hard at his development as he worked to get on the field in 2004, there\'s a chance Colby will have a respectable NFL career. |

I will admit, I\'m realy excited at seeing what an NFL offseason conditiong program can do for him.
We all know he has instincts, size, skills, and awesome speed. He was just way too weak. I re-watched those last 4 games 100 times. He\'s fantastic in pursuit, be he was pushed around a bit when plays came right at him. I\'m as anxious about his offseason conditioning as I am Sullivan, just not quite as skeptical.
