I wish Payton would take him out against teams like the Bills when we were that far ahead. I was hoping he would come out earlier against the Bills. Stanford is legendary for his comebacks so I get that.

I think Brees saw what our next opponent's QB did. A series of one year deals made him wealthy. Every year, Brees can sit back, wait for the QB market to increase, and negotiate top pay on a 1 year deal with a no trade clause.
I'm not complaining, I want the man to retire in NOLA. But it may be what he's doing. |
Re: Drew Brees: I plan to be in New Orleans beyond 2017
A lot of back and forth about Brady and Brees as GOAT. One of the posters was adamant about the 4th quarter comebacks. Brady has 40, Brees has 29. So I looked. In the past 4 seasons (including this one) Brees has more than Brady. Brees actually has more in the last 2 seasons than Brady does in the last 3.
In those 4 seasons the points per game ranks for the defenses (2014-2017) for NE: 8th, 10th, 1st, and 14th. Saints: 28th, 32nd, 31st, and 5th. So, Brees has had more comebacks with much worse defenses (we all know that part). Pretty amazing. |

Saints with Drew - very competitive
Saints with Anyone Else - not so competitive At least for this point in time. |
