Pre-Draft Question for all members
 

When it comes to the Saints and the NFL Draft, you never know what position they will draft.

Last year we drafted DE Will Smith. A couple of years back we drafted Deuce McAllister. Both were complete surprises.

I'd like for everyone to tell me what "positions" would you be upset if the Saints drafted one. Such as DE or kicker ... ;) Oh, I'm speaking of only our 1st round draft pick

That way we'll have everyone on record.

I'll be unhappy if we draft ANYTHING other than LB or OT in the first round. Well, I wouldn't be too unhappy about a DT.

If we draft a TE in the first round, I will go ape :censored: Everyone else is touchable.

EDIT: Just to clarify, not cause I think we are set at TE or anything, but none of these tight ends are worth a mid first rounder. Especially not for us.

OT - Any of the top 3
DT - Just not a 1-gap please
CB - Any of the top three
QB - Alex Smith only

TE - Miller only, and I\'m a bit iffy on him
RB - Benson, Williams or Brown only

Unhappy if our 1st round pick is a...
DE - for obvious reasons
DT - A one gapper 3 tech type
QB - Anyone other than Alex Smith
FB - yeah, right
K - Never again
P - Unless he can play OLB also

LB is my primary concern, though it\'s doubtful one deserving of #16 will fall to us there.

I would love to see us move up and get DJ, but any good linebacker (Davis, Merriman) would make me happy. Also, a solid CB or DT would be fine. I guess if we got the #1 OT in the draft I would be happy, but I really think we need to focus on the defensive side of the ball.

I\'ve had this weird feeling for the last month or so that we will draft a WR. Although it will be odd, you really can\'t say it doesn\'t make any sense. Horn will be done in a couple of years and having Stallworth, Henderson, and a Williamson wouldn\'t be so bad. I hope they draft defense first though.

I honestly believe if our two defensive tackles could get better peneration and perform consistently, our linebackers will be MUCH better than what everyone makes them out to be. They are all pretty fast and smart, I think the problem is upfront. Give the linebackers a little break! :(

I think we should take that Nugent kid out of Ohio State in the second round. Carney is not getting any younger, his range is about 40 yds now, and we all know the difference a good kicker vs a bad kicker can make in this league. I.E. Doug\"F-ing\"Brien
Also Nugent won\'t be around in the third round.

I agree w/ papz. a good DT wood help our LB\'s alot. (even BY is better suited as a rotation guy). If our D-line could stop the run, we could have a pretty good D. And, we do need another kicker Carney is starting to suck. (He used to be money, what happened)(age i guess?)

I think the vast majority are in agreement on what the \"need\" areas are.

I just had to get everyone on record. Cause just as sure is my name is Billy ... WhoDat is gonna be doing some complaining after the draft and telling folks how we didn\'t need whatever position we drafted.
