Kirk Cousins frustrated with grounding call officials apparently got wrong

Hopefully at the bottom of the apology letter from the league there is a note telling Cousins that if his defense had stopped the Saints from scoring 15 points in 5 minutes it wouldn't matter if the refs got a penalty wrong!

Just like the no call on Michael Thomas..

I read a bunch of the comments. I like the one where the guy says "the team the NFL wanted to win, won.". Lol. Like it's all a big conspiracy. Lol. Some of the comments are hilarious. The fact the Saints we're unstoppable in the final 3 drives is the reason the Saints won. End of story.

We are no strangers to bad calls, bad plays or bad commissioners.

Multiple no calls on Thomas, they held him every time the ball was in the air.

Well to be quite honest, to me as a foreigner it seems like believing in conspiracy theories is the new great American pastime.

Are we talking old school rules or the new lets generate as many points rules in the NFL?

Old school? The WR was to far away from the throw to justify a missed route. Even if the QB and the WR were on the same page the ball was too high to be caught.

new school? media driven BS

To me it looked like the edge defender on the blind side may have beat his blocker, and Cousins threw it away. No, there was not a defender barreling down on him at that point. To remove all doubt, Cousins should have sailed it out of bounds around the 30 yard line (receiver in area), or spike the ball at the feet of the running back that was standing right in front of him. IMO Cousins panicked and could have made a better decision. Was it a bad call, probably, but could have made a better decision so a bad call would not have been made.

Did the ball even make it back to the LOS?

I don't really care, they missed a ton of PI on our Rec, and they also allowed Cam to get held like crazy. And not just held where you couldn't tell, where his whole body was being turned because of how blatant the hold was. I could see it on the TV it was so blatant. If it was the wrong call I sympathize because we have been there before. But all of us on the board would be pissed if it was us and pointing out how garbage it was, and at the same time we would be discussing how we allowed two td's in the span of less than 5 minutes, an 87 yard drive that took 4 plays and 48 seconds, a 2 point conversion, and over 50 yards on two runs in OT.

You lost because with less than 6 minutes to play your defense decided to pack their bags and head for DC and our defense decided to show up.

It wasn't the wrong call.

Cousins tried to advance the ball but his guys were covered and an ensuing rush

So he let it go

Michael Thomas was mugged on that throw to the 5 yard line - Ended up only getting 3 on that drive

Hey Kirk, take a look at the 4th down connection you made to Vernon Davis. Really good play that you were able to make due to a hold. Oh, and the pass interference on Michael Thomas that the analysts commented on (left arm being held ) but then said it was a good no-call? Sometimes things go your way and sometimes they don't. As someone said, blame your O-Line for not getting that push on 3rd and 1 that would have killed us off, and then look to your defence that allowed a perfect 11 for 11 by Brees and Mark Ingram to break your backs in overtime. Look to yourselves before pointing fingers.

Does Washington have Casper on their team? Wasn't exactly ANYONE visible even close to the ball...

Cousins felt pressure that wasn't there and fired the ball out of bounds to avoid a sack and loss of yardage for the FG.

Close call either way but there was a free D lineman on Cousins right,he had beat the tackle but not close enough to hit him.

Blandino and Pereira are reviewing the tape very carefully. The NFL could take the win away just like they did after the blown call against the Bears!!

All together in our best Wrath Of Khan scream "GOODELL!!!!!!!!"

Re: Kirk Cousins frustrated with grounding call officials apparently got wrong

I’m so tired of hearing people ***** about bad calls. It happens ALL THE TIME TO US. We have lost several games because of them. One Patriots game was for sure a loss because of no calls/penalties. Happens to everyone. The refs will intentionally call them to slow down/speed up a game. Goodell has to have some sort of hand in keeping the games on schedule. They are starting to do it intentionally to put the teams who get the best ratings or make the most interesting stories in the best position to win. Is the game rigged? No. But the powers that be do give the teams they want to see win the extra shove.
How else do you explain the no challenges after 2 min rule? It’s so refs can call shots without interference from coaches. Not to quicken the pace of the game.
Happens to all teams. Get over it Cousins.

Kirk,

Welcome to 40 plus years of calls that went against the Saints that the league apologized for.

Now shove it up your ass.

Sincerely,

Every Saint fan ever.

Did it seem to anyone else that SP's insistence on the call heal some influence?
