Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
Mark Ingram is a grown man!

Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
A pro-bowler now... His 2018 contract voids. And his price goes up significantly. Does he remain a Saint next year?

Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
I don’t think Ingram is looking for a huge contract so I think he’ll stay with the Saints.

Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
Ingram's agent will be looking to get as huge a contract as is possible, as he should.

If that's the case, the Saints might have a hard time signing him and Drew. They're both going to want a truck load of money.

Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
I doubt he sticks. Thinking we go get a Carlos Hyde for cheaper or work with what we got. I would take Hyde on a 1 year for cheaper and use the remaining coin to get another pass rusher.

Well regardless, I hope he's re-signed. I like MI. He's a great back and already has over 800 yards rushing this year. He should get 1100 or more easily this year.

Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
So all-pro is the trigger, not pro-bowl (twice)?
Either way I think he'll choose to stay here, much to the Ingram hates chagrin. |

Seem's like there was a time when the big decision was whether to trade

Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
Not to put Ingram down or discredit his performances, but the O-line has been tremendous in run blocking, especially that Bills' game.
I'm not saying that you could replace Ingram with any other RB in the league and receive better yardage with this O-line, but I bet there are few that could exceed what he has done in his place. |
Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
Let him walk if he wants too much money. We can drive the Kamara and find a thumper!
|
Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
That's all way too far away for me to worry about yet.

Re: Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Pla
Ingram has always been a very good RB. This year he's taken it up another big notch, IMO for these reasons:
1. Blocking - both O-line and down field blocking has been fantastic. Fleener & Hill are taking some crap for not producing receiving yardage but the down field blocking has been excellent and often it's one of them involved in blocking for a big gain. 2. Motivation - First Peterson, and then later with the emergence of Kamara. Like I said, Ingram was always very good, but he never had anyone to really push him to be better (IMO he was always equal or better than the other backs we had Cadet, Ivory, even PT). Peterson (by reputation at least) and Kamara (by raw talent) have threatened him and has pushed Mark to be his best. 3. Dedication to the run - We've seen flashes of it over the last couple of years, but this year SP has finally seen the light and is finally putting his faith in his running backs/running game first, not distant second. I couldn't imagine a game where we ran 20+ times in a row in a game prior to this season. Next season's worries are for next season, let's enjoy the show for now, because it's damn entertaining. |
