Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
OK lets assume every team in the NFC wins their home games versus the NFC south, (except everyone beats Tampa)
Lets look at some chalk… Saints 8-3, Finish 12-4 W- Panthers 8-3 L- @Falcons 7-4 W- Jets 4-7 W- Falcons 7-4 W-@Bucs 4-7 Panthers 8-3 , Finish 10-6 L-@Saints 8-3 L- Vikings 9-2 W- Packers 5-6 W- Bucs 4-7 L- @Falcons 7-4 Falcons 7-4, Finish 10-6 L- Vikings 9-2 W- Saints 8-3 W- @Bucs 4-7 L- @Saints 8-3 W- Panthers 8-3 Bucs 4-7, finish 4-12 L- @Packers 5-6 L- Lions 6-5 L- Falcons 7-4 L- @Panthers 8-3 L- Saints 8-3 I think we are still in the drivers seat (ON PAPER). I will also ban the 1st person who says "on any given Sunday". :p |
Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
If at least Lattimore is back I say the Saints run the table.
Without Lattimore the Saints sweep the kittens and yucs; split with failclowns and beat Jets |
Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
It’s going to be a dog fight to the last game.

Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
I just have to ask.....can Minnesota really win three straight road games back to back to back?

The only teams that can survive that are typically teams with a great defense and a solid run game. |
Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
Saints and Clowns, 10-6
Panties 11-5 Panties win South. Saints and Clowns Wildcards. Unless, Sea locks Saints out. I will be happy with a 10-6 season. Missing the Playoffs would suck but a 3 win improvement would be great. |
Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
We can't win without 2 decent CB's. We also loss a pass rusher so yeah, I will believe a W when I see it but I have faith.

On any given Sunday, Bruh!
Oh.. and you don't have the power to ban... LMAO We may win the rest of our games! :bng: |

You really believe that we're going to lose 3 of our last 4 division games? That would be both depressing and disappointing. Winning only 2 of our last 5 is an unacceptable outcome at this point. I hope the Saints stick a fork in the Kitties as there is no way they are going to win the division losing the head to head to the Saints. SFIAH |
Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
no game in the NFC South is a sure win and we have 4 to go. 2 of which are on the road

Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
Hey we can speculate about how we finish the season all we want . If we get into the playoffs anything can happen. After our start I thought here we go again. It has been a very exciting season! Are you not amused?

Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
Triman,
I think long winning streaks sometimes skews perceptions. Fans often get an air of invincibility thinking they will have the 19-0 season. So the loss at the end makes it feel like the bottom is falling out. But two realities are likely: 1. A win against the Kitties and simply splitting with the Chokers (see my sig...) goes a long way towards securing the division. 2. The bye is likely gone. I agree with you. In the playoffs with a really good team that can run the ball and play defense is something to look forward to. SFIAH |

Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
Isn't this great??!! We are IN THE HUNT, relevant and essentially we control our own destiny. Injuries will have an affect on the outcome, as they always do, but w/ this team and Payton/Brees at the helm, anything can happen.
It's almost December and we are right in the thick of things!!!!! That's all you can ask for!! |
Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
Having a running game and utilizing your running game are two different things.
I have zero faith in SP committing to it. FWIW...... |
Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
After a 8-2 start I can't be happy WITHOUT 11 wins and a playoff spot.

Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
I'll be happy with a 2-3 finish as long as they were against Carolina and atlanta. I would like more but think that would probably be enough to get the division

You've posted elsewhere that you have no faith in Payton utilizing the running game. The rushing attack has accounted for 46% of the offense so far. In Buffalo, the Saints had 48 rush attempts, including a stretch of 24 rushes in a row. When the chips were down in the Washington game in overtime, two rushes for 51 yards ended the game. Is it not unrealistic to expect to rush the ball when the team is behind by 14 in the second half? But isn't equally unlikely that the Saints will end the season on a 6 game losing streak throwing the ball 80% of the time as is Guido's expectation of winning the SB on a 8 or 9 game winning streak? My expectations down the stretch is that the Saints will win their three remaining home games along with winning in Tampa. And that they will continue running the ball at about a 40% clip. In an ideal situation, stealing a win in Mercedes Benz North would be icing on the cake. But as long as the Saints are limited to 1 division loss in the remaining 4 division games, we'll have a seat at the table for the playoff run. But again, detail the list of issues, then discuss what can be done to resolve them. I really cannot understand why you think the Saints are going to tank down the stretch. Thanks, SFIAH |

Re: Remaining games... Predictions for the NFC South
WORST CASE a split with Carolina and Atlanta to finish 11-5.
But I think we beat Carolina in normal fashion (by 3-4 points with it close all the way). At ATL will be the tough one on a short week, but they may be sore if they get in a slugfest this weekend. So if the breaks go our way we're 13-3, if they go against us 11-5. |
