Carolina substituting
Listening to the game I heard Deuce mention that Brees was furious with the officials because the Panthers kept substituting. What was he talking about? How does this work to a defenses advantage?

Re: Carolina substituting
Brees had to call 2 timeouts because the refs wouldn't allow him to snap it so Carolina could substitute. Not sure what was up with all that but it was pretty infuriating.

If this is the case I can’t see why any defense wouldn’t take their own sweet time to get out there in order to burn the play clock. |
Re: Carolina substituting
I remember Bobby Hebert saying Rivera complained last game and so the officials made it point of emphasis.

Re: Carolina substituting
I could be wrong but I believe that if the offense substitutes then they have to allow the defense to as well

Re: Carolina substituting
But again what’s to keep a defense to take to the last second to get lined up so the offense barely has time to snap the ball?

Re: Carolina substituting
SP kept searching for his end around to the TE play.
Pete Carmichael had it deleted from the call sheet. Thus, the confusion. |
