Referees and Falcons beat Saints 20-17 in first of two
In one of the most one-sided games you’ll see this year as far as officiating goes, the Saints fall to the Falcons 20-17 on the road in first of two of the series.
11 Saints penalties to four for the Falcons is pretty much all you need to know about the Saints’ Thursday night 20-17 loss to the Falcons. It’s not considered good manners to complain about officiating but this game was a joke. The Saints were called for everything and the Falcons for very little. Alvin Kamara left the game in the first half following a head to head hit from Falcons linebacker Deion Jones. No flag. Mark Ingram was speared in the back with a helmet in the second half. No flag. An no one was allowed to touch Julio Jones. That atop a roughing the passer call when Sheldon Rankins was pushed, lightly, into Matt Ryan. |

This is Arthur's list of Ref's that he's making checks out to this morning.
Plus they all get orange plated Home Depot gift cards. Clete Blakeman's 2017 NFL officiating crew consists of umpire Ramon George, down judge Hugo Cruz, line judge Dana McKenzie, field judge Joe Larrew, side judge Dyrol Prioleau, and back judge Steve Patrick |

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the hits on Kamara and Ingram.

Re: Referees and Falcons beat Saints 20-17 in first of two
I don't care about the officiating or the injuries, Saints were still in a position to win and Brees panicked for some reason, basically a choke job...

Re: Referees and Falcons beat Saints 20-17 in first of two
Not disagreeing that there wasn't home-town cooking with regards to the officiating; not to mention some BS scheduling by the league...
But we beat ourselves - and that's the worse part... |

No need to see this group of clowns at any playoff post season venue. The "fix" was on.
Kind of hard to defeat two teams last night. |
Re: Referees and Falcons beat Saints 20-17 in first of two
Side note - by the rule of the NFL, the hit on Kamara was legal.

I know a lot of people bashing the refs but if you look at the calls they were correct. Except for the one on Sean.
They were legit otherwise. Problem is we were sloppy and didn't deliever in the clutch. Injuries yikes. |

No reason to make excuses. Brees and Payton ****ed it up.

Footnote - Banjo, Lattimore, Teo, Crawley, Kikaha played well. This defense (specifically the secondary) is turning a corner. |
Re: Referees and Falcons beat Saints 20-17 in first of two
What about the push off from Sanu on his touchdown?!
Or the sneeze on Ryan that was flagged for roughing the passer? Or the numerous holds from the Falcons O-line that were never seen Or the Payton trying to call a timeout for 8 seconds and then gets flagged for running on the field to grab their attention You can't honestly say that it was a fairly called game  |
Re: Referees and Falcons beat Saints 20-17 in first of two
Yeah even if the hits were legal it was still an extremely poorly called game by the refs. I lost count of how many penalties they "missed" against the clowns... whatever, everything that could go wrong in this game did go wrong and we still almost pulled it off. When they come to our house in 2 weeks they're gonna go home defeated, embarrassed and out of the playoffs. F****n losers.

Re: Referees and Falcons beat Saints 20-17 in first of two
Find a way ...
Saints need another play maker or two on offense not named Kamara. Ingram & Thomas have been above average but other guys aren't getting enough separation at the WR/TE position. Ginn is long in the tooth & Fleener/Hill & Houmanwhamacalic aren't those explosive guys. If we want to make a serious playoff push, they must step up. |

I saw a couple of hands to the face calls that could have been called on both teams that were let go but when you look at the game as a whole. Saints were sloppy and not prepared as I think they should have been I mean look at the injuries as well. |
