A former disgruntled employee, snitch is hired by the league and will review Payton's case???

This is beyond ridiculous...

“Here’s the kicker from Ginsberg: “The Saints were so concerned about Cerullo’s stability, as Goodell also knew, that, when Cerullo was terminated, Saints head coach Sean Payton also was forced to obtain police protection at his house for fear that Cerullo would seek some type of retribution.” (Cerullo has denied that he held a grudge against the team.)”

Big city, big market teams get calls, favorable schedules, you name it. Always was that way. Always will be. Just like how Duke and North Carolina always get calls. Unless you really believe Laettner outplayed Shaq in college.

Pretty amazing... I have never thought the league was more bias than now. Completely embarrassing what the nfl has turned into over the last few years. I haven’t watched a single game outside the Saints games and wouldn’t watch if they weren’t doing so well...

Can’t believe RG got an extension, he is single handily destroying the NFL and you can’t even say ratings are up and more money is coming in anymore...

So in the end what could happen to Payton.

The NFL and Goodell are awful. They're killing the game of football faster than it should have ever died on its own.

I've heard a fine, but that's a rumor. I don't think the NFL has officially said anything. I fear they will suspend him. Especially since the gesture happened against the falcons and their owner was specifically head of the committee that got Goodell a fat pay-raise.

I fear the same. Anyone have a clip of the video?

SP was trying to call a timeout.
His gesture that I saw elsewhere in a photo was probably about the constant holding calls that were never called against the falcons throughout the game.

Needs to be more substantial proof. It looks like certain teams are given favor over others but unless you have testimonials from officials or teams involved, or perhaps email communication, there is no case to be had.

It would be nice for federal investigations to take place given the tax exempt status they are given.

Won’t matter though, the consumer will decide with their pocketbooks and the slow bleed the NFL is seeing now will only get worse.

Perhaps the NFL should also look at Pete Carroll and his misfits in Seattle!

Cerullo has zero qualifications. This is bogus. He basically peaked out at making sure the jock straps were cleaned and dried. His career after the Saints has been no more illustrious.

Well, the sacred one in Seattle, Mr Carroll got flagged for running on the field today, should be interesting to see the comparison......I’m sure he will get a pass, total horse crap

Most of the stuff he brought forth was in his own handwriting and then he couldn't even explain why it didn't correspond to what he had claimed. Come to think of it, maybe Will(insert team name here)81 is actually Mike Cerullo! Both are totally full of crap!

May be mistaken, but didn't Tagliabue re-mediate this thing and determined that there was no evidence to justify the penalties?

I go back to TV ratings. The saints are one of the few teams that the local fans are just not tuning in. Down in 2016 and down even more in 2017

I can't stand the league now with all of the ambiguity with the interpretation of the rules and their constant attempt to make a violent sport non-violent.

The NFL doesn't want a small market team in the Superbowl. How many NFC contenders are small market teams? You guessed it!

The mosts they should give Sean is a fine. There was no contact not illegal hits.

I don't understand how he could even get a fine, he was calling a timeout and the refs were ignoring him. Brees has gone mental at refs before for not responding when he called a timeout.

They said he tried to trip Cletus. That's what they will screw coach on, not running on to the field. Total BS.

They need to be worried more about the quality of the officiating than the reaction of the players and coaches to such poor quality.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap200...-steelers-loss

"The NFL fined Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin $100,000 and will consider modification or forfeiture of the team's 2014 draft choices, the league announced Wednesday.

Any modification or forfeiture of the draft picks will be considered after the final order of the 2014 draft has been determined. The discipline was issued by NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson.

The penalties are a result of Tomlin's actions on the sideline during a kickoff return in the Steelers' 22-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13. In the third quarter, Ravens kick returner Jacoby Jones appeared to break free down the sideline only to be slowed by Tomlin -- who had his back to Jones and was standing on the white stripe hugging the field."

Some would consider Charlotte a small market team but the population of just Charlotte is double that of New Orleans.
