What we learned from the Saints win against the Jets

Defense is good enough to help us carry to a win even if the offense is not sharp.

3 turnovers need to be cleaned up fast, especially Coleman's.

The Jets aren't as bad as their record says it is.

We are in the driver's seat for the division.

Although not a thing of beauty, we'll take this win.

:bng:

Jets were a good team, most of their losses were by less than a TD.

It went about as I expected.

Some good, some bad, but a win nonetheless.

Re: What we learned from the Saints win against the Jets

The Saints didn't receive much help from the rest of the NFC
The Saints needed the Panthers, Vikings or Eagles to lose as they vie for a high playoff seed in the NFC. All of their main rivals won. The Saints started the day at the No. 4 seed in the NFC and ended it in the same spot. Philadelphia and Minnesota look like locks for the Nos. 1 and 2 playoff seeds with two games to play.

I've learned over 40 years that if you need or want a team to lose in the final weeks, it never happens.

I fully expect the Falcons to win tomorrow night. Such is life as a Saints fan.

I'm 100% sure we'll need to beat the Bucs in week 17 just to make the playoffs.

Ingram gets a thousand yards rushing.

Mike Thomas gets a thousand yard receiving.

without the two fubles we would have run away with it, part of that is because Petty ****ing stinks

Some posters were expecting the Jets to perform like the Browns. This is the NFL. Nothing is easy.

Side note - Cam Jordan is an elite player who continues to make plays every week.

Just wait to you see what the chargers do to that team next week. We just can't destroy below .500 teams. Jets are a good team? Don't make me laugh.

Can’t convert on 3rd down
Lattimore will be all pro for years. Great pick. It’s fun to have a CB who’s name you hear a lot because he’s doing good things rather than bad.

Special teams SUCK.
Way to many penalties.

We still haven’t played our best football. Atlanta is going to get CRUSHED.

Jets WERE a good team that just didn’t. Have the ball bounce their way. They lost their top defensive lineman and QB We just almost lost to a very bad team. We would have lost that game if it weren’t for injuries.

thought coleman made the most of his chances today

Apparently him and Hill spend too much time together.

Idk why all our receivers decided to take a step back this year. Thomas is the only sure thing we got.
Pass to Thomas
Pass to Kamara
Pass to Ingram

That’s all we got.

Re: What we learned from the Saints win against the Jets

Jets played the run and screen game.

They dared Drew and company to beat them through the air.

It took almost 2 full quarters till the saints stopped forcing their game plan

That has to change.

Not having Ginn to stretch the field was obvious today. We really need a speedy WR who can take the top off and keep defenses honest.

Brees getting closer to taking the lead in the all time NFL passing leaders.
Drew Brees Stats, News, Videos, Highlights, Pictures, Bio - New Orleans Saints - ESPN
He's just a hair under 70000 yards now. He may/will likely pass Brett Farve and Manning in the playoffs this year.

This "3 and out" offense needs to get it's heads in gear.

It's like we show up for a quarter, don't score for the second and third quarter, and then come alive in the 4th. It keeps happening week after week, it's making games too close.

The defense has done a great job considering the awful spots the offense put them in consistently.

The pick Brees threw was just excruciating.

We need better Receivers other than Michael Thomas.

Brandon Coleman is just a lanky version of Josh Hill, someone Payton shows absolute loyalty to for no apparent reason.

We don't need any help whatsoever. All we need is to win!

Ain't that the truth. It has almost never worked out for the Saints on relying on other teams. Pretty much count on it not working out. It has never worked out that I know of to be honest.

Re: What we learned from the Saints win against the Jets

1. yeah, have to say D won this game with the turnovers. We do that in playoffs its one and done. A good team would have put 14 on the board, but the D saved the day vs a shaky Jets offense.

2. Some seem to think Kamara should never be tackled or a Sanders. Thought later might prove true later, even sanders got stuffed most of the time, and was horrible in playoff games, oh wait that was walter P.

3. #$%#^#^&#% Coleman needs to be consistent game to game or....

4.*It was obvious we were the better team today, but stalled and kept them in the game.

5. If I had the money Id buy the Panthers, change their name to the Munchkin and colors to yellow and grey, same used kitty litter. Make players wear collars with bells and owning tags. Pay Cam 100 million a year to stay but he must play with a cape, and draft high school talent with million dollar contracts.
Not that I spent any time thinking about this.

This
Thomas was clutch
Jets keyed in on screens

Defensive outside containment was terrible

Yes, if Warford and Peat were healthy we would have had a much better run game, I agree. Would have been more lopsided W.

We can't protect Drew or open running lanes with our backup guards playing. Our young defense is very capable.
