Personally I feel like Vaccaro and Vonn Bell are pretty interchangeable... Same positives and negatives. Now we’ll see if we can move forward with Bell as our SS after this season.

Yea. He hasnt looked great since the first half of the season. He always hits hard and plays aggressive but he actually looked fast early in the season. I say why not bring him back? He's not worth a ton to trade plus he'll end up with the Panthers or Falcons and yuk.

Say what you will of him, but losing him, especially with the playoffs right around the corner, doesn't make us better. This sucks. We keep losing key players at this rate and it'll be a very short postseason for us.

I really like KVac. I hope we resign him at a good price. Our luck with injuries is horrible. I haven't been too high on Bell lately but I still have a little faith. Bush is no punk either. This injury sucks but it could have happened at a worse position like another defensive lineman. We can weather this storm.

I was just listening to John Clayton on NFL Radio and he mentioned Vacarro's trip to IR. He said Vacarro is something like the 276th player to go on IR so far this season. That is up almost 7% from the previous high.
That is more players on IR than six full game day rosters! It isn't just the Saints. It is across the entire league. It is unreal. |

It's the lack of physical year-round training; the history is there to support what I'm saying...
You can see a dramatic rise in injuries correlated to the reduction of year-round physical work, contact mandated by the CBA... Now this comes to light, maybe people will re-evaluate their position and opinion on the guy - sucks for him because he's in a contract year... Though I don't think the Saints ever really seriously considered extending him with any serious money with the coming extensions next year... Wonder if Delvin Breaux could play some safety as he's a restricted free agent? |

I know in real life this will never happen, but perhaps shortening the preseason to 3 games and regular season to 14 could be a solution. Several teams, including the Saints, look rather sluggish lately. Guys are just too beat up at this point of the season.

So let me get this straight.
An injury this year makes you forget that KV has only avoided the bust label because everyone on this defense not wearing 94 has been garbage, coached by garbage, for years. Hell yeah then! Sign him to a huge deal now before every other team looking for a slow, dim witted, undisciplined penalty machine comes to town to break the bank! This whole, he got hurt, so now we rewrite history to portray him as a hero crap is asinine. |

Losing Vaccaro will definitely have an impact. You kinda have to take the good with bad with him, penalty wise, but there is more good.

yay!!!, glad they are taking his injury seriously. but to be honest, his penalty problems were established well before the injury bug i believe.

Use P.J. Williams in his role and keep plugging away. Robertson and Te’o will be fine. We can still do the three safety sets.
