Thousands of New Orleans Saints fans have signed an online petition to see an old favorite run onto the field Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Reggie Bush.

The former Saints running back declared his retirement from professional football last weekend, saying he hoped for a return to New Orleans so he can make it official at the place where his career started.

That has many fans calling for him to come back this weekend for the NFC South showdown against the Falcons.

Heck sign him up as a WR. Couldnt he run a fade route better than Snead? Just sayin.

The rah-rah crap lasts about one or two plays.

I'd rather spend this coin on a play-off game. If we can't beat the Falcons straight up at home after what happened in ATL, then we're not going to do squat in the playoffs anyways. Just my $0.02.

Agreed, let Reggie retire a Saint, but he's not the motivator for this Saints team. Moreover, against Atlanta this weekend, if the last game itself doesn't motivate them, Reggie sure wouldn't.

Is anything gonna happen with this? I would love to see him come out of the tunnel for the first playoff game.

I don't see the league being favorable to allowing a player (past or present) to be wielding a baseball bat coming out of the tunnel with the team. The NFL is under scrutiny & litigation for "concussion" stuff, and let's not forget the whole Bounty-gate crap. Somebody on the field with a Louisville Slugger wouldn't be a good appearance for the League. The League is trying to tone down the violent part of the sport, even if it is just a symbolism.
Nope, I don't believe that's going to happen.
They might let Reggie come out on the field with a butterfly net, but a baseball bat?.. mmm no.
