CAR@ATL was flexed to 4:25 ET as were several other games including Saints/Bucs. I guess it's easy to confuse the word "flexed" to SNF only. However, flexing can be to a different later timeslot (as the Saints were a couple of times this season) or crossflexed, where CBS carries an NFC-NFC matchup that normally would only be aired on FOX. I got to see the Saints here in Atlanta because the Carolina/Chicago game was crossflexed this season for example.

Bottom line is exactly for the reasons that you were outlining, the games with affect each other in terms of the playoffs are played at the same time. Since the Saints, Kitties, Chokers, Lambs, and Seachickens games all influence each other, all games involving them have been grouped at 4:25 ET.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

Well he should have been more clear. I knew that the games would be at 4:25 unless one was a SNF. That was that way in 2013 when we last went to the playoffs. He made me think it was SNF. Yet I read nothing about it moving to SNF so I was not sure where he got any information from.
