Rams probably sitting this one out

Smart move actually. At 4th seed, McVay knows he will get the Panthers, and then the nick foles led Eagles. Least path of resistance to an NFC win.

Though I'm not sure he's thinking that a 3 win is hard in the NFL, so Atlanta might be easier for us, and Vikings play in a Dome, which we are good at, instead of the 10 degrees Eagles stadium. Sounds like he's trying to deliberately avoid the Saints and Vikings.

Rams coach Sean McVay told the media in Thousand Oaks that he will probably rest his starters for the season finale against the 49ers. Getting guys healthy is more important than a 3 or a 4 seed, McVay said.

Thanks P.

I believe that each team in each individual year means more than statistical precedent.

I have to after '09.

np not stats though, smart because he knows we and Vikings have to fight for it and gives his team a bye week before playoffs.

This can backfire, especially with a young team. Gurley certainly doesn't look like he needs any rest.

Shows that the guy is looking ahead, and that he doesn't see both Philly and Minn getting upset. Intriguing at the least, and maybe even smart.

Helps us, so I like it

let's not forget we lost 3 straight in 2009, sitting our starters in the last week

That was different. Saints didn't sacrifice seeding to sit anyone.

Rams cant get a 2 seed
Dont risk your players
You have the division
A locked up home game
If you do lose and Saints or Carolina win
You get the 4 seed

4 seedmatch up well with the Eagles

Here is a real fun scenario
If the Saints win, Rams lose
Saints get either falcons or seahawks in the dome
Advance to Vikings
Beat Minnesota - if Eagles lose
You host the ncfcg

That would be a fun way to run the tables

They're gonna be sitting out the super bowl too after we knock them out.

Ehhh, I think you just try and win. Healthy absolutely matters, but I mean you could lose a star first series of the playoff game, i.e. saints losing Thomas in '11

They can still play us under the worst case scenario.

Well, we just avoided Carolina. But I definitely do not want to go to LA so please let us win.

They just want to play the Eagles instead of the Vikings. Playing the saints is out of the scenario unless we lose to Tampa.

If vikes, rams and saints lose doesn't Carolina get second seed?

That would be one s storm

Re: Rams probably sitting this one out

Yeah, they want Eagles. Eagles looked pretty beatable at home vs the sub-par Raiders on Sunday. Car was horrible and they still barely won. Jimmy G in SF beat Jags in a shootout, #! defence in the NFL with 44pts, so without RAMS starters I don't give the Rams much chance of winning.
Sure Mcvay knows they will lose and #4 seed, and he probably has all our games on tap showing panthers are a one trick pony. Make Cam throw and you win.
Hes also hoping, guessing, that Aintlanta can beat us and the Vikings. Perfect setup for NFC championship for Rams is at home vs Falcons or Seattle.
But he's allowing Saints to play all their games in a dome. So if we win out and Panthers somehow beat Rams and Eagles its Dome to Dome Dome.
