NFL Facts

In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling for each game to pray, they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his eyeblack to avoid glare and made him take it off.

In 2013 the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders.

In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said “Know Jesus Know Peace,” but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.

In 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing “Find the Cure” eye black for breast cancer awareness..

In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence.
(Not that the NFL has a domestic violence problem…)

In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing decals on their helmets in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers killed in the line of duty.

In 2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

So tell me again how the NFL supports free speech and expression all of a sudden…

It seem quite clear based on these fact that the NFL has taken a position against any action by NFL players demonstrating RESPECT for any issue: For God, social causes such as mental health, cancer, domestic violence, for cops killed arbitrarily for being cops, for the Memory of 9/11…

But, they will allow demonstrations of DISRESPECT for our NationalFlag, our National Anthem, for America, and for the American People if it will help mollify a particular group and its supporters (such as BLM, and other leftists…)

That is what the NFL has shown itself to be.

Didn't you see the stuff coming out of his head... did you think I was kidding?

Or....................there are RULES IN PLACE, RULES ON THE BOOKS, for all of the above mentioned actions. Like or disagree with them or not. ALL COLLECTIVELY BARGAINED and accepted by both sides. Whereas there is no rule on the books regarding not standing for the anthem. FACTS. Not a leftist conspiracy. People continually ignoring facts, propagating lies, and generally wallowing in ignorance goes more to the problem.

back to the OP:
a rookie decided to wear red cleats for xmas and got fined. No politics, no causes, no awareness raising. Just someone with an extra $6000 I guess

Its a rule. Kamara broke the rule. He should be fined. If he does it again, he should be suspended.

NFL allowing players to wear custom cleats without fines, finally

The No Fun League is trying to be a little more fun, apparently.

The NFL already relaxed the rules about celebration dances this offseason, and now they’re taking it one step further. The league will also ease up on the rules about cleats, making the game just a little more fun.

This season, players will have the freedom to wear custom cleats during pregame, up until warmups, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell. The league will also be more flexible about the color of cleats players wear during games.

Previously, players could only wear the color of cleats their team chose. This year, players can choose white, black, their team’s primary color, or a secondary uniform color for their game cleats.

We are talking about the NFL, so you already know there are some caveats here.

Pregame custom cleats can’t display any kind of logo other than league-sanctioned shoe brands, like Nike, UnderArmour, or Adidas.

The cleats can’t say anything that could be deemed offensive, which is pretty broad.

These shoes cannot be used to express political views.
