Veteran defensive lineman Darryl Tapp joins Saints as coaching intern

Tapp was at practice Friday, and coach Sean Payton said the 33-year-old is around to work as a coaching intern. Tapp played for the Saints in 2016 and was with the team for training camp this year.

Wow that’s pretty cool! I like that Payton is so open to giving his guys opportunities to get their feet wet in the coaching world. I think Leigh Torrence is an assistant coach now in some capacity and before his death Will Smith was going to help coach the D-Line.

And the fact that Kuhn was acting like a coach while he was on IR.

Payton is good enough to realize you take good ideas from anyone.
