I read Gibbs is going after Campbell. Patrick Ramsey on the outs.

What would you trade to get Ramsey in a Saints uni?

What would the Redskins ask?

Would you give them a 3rd? a 4th? A player?

I'd swap Fred Thomas (they need CB's badly) for Ramsey and maybe give them a late rounder 5th/6th/7th rounder.

Why would you give up anything for another QB. We\'ve already got a few on the roster. He will never see the field, so it seems like we already have people to fill that role.

i would do AB myslef to get rid of his escalating salary. realistically, he would be a quality backup that could actually push AB. so, a 4th, yeah. thomas seems like he would appeal to them too. him and a 7th.

PS/ campbell at #25 is bs though. skins positioning to get a specific player. #25+#9 can bid for #2. there will be some hot bidding to get edwards and/or williams at the top imo. skins, vikes, bucs, and chargers (despite the smokescreen) all have the ammo and need/desire for them.

No, we shouldn\'t, because this FO would probably trade our 1st 3 picks and then sit Ramsey his entire career behind Brooks who will get worse and worse. We\'ll then trade Ramsey to Tampa for a 7th rounder and he\'ll win a superbowl for them.

Even if Ramsey did play he would suck. Any QB we get would suck. Look at the last 35 years dude. We suck and we always will. May as well sign some more Billy Joe\'s because at least that way when we suck it\'ll be expected.

I\'d rather expect to win 4 games and actually win 5 than expect to win 10 and only win 8. It called reality Danno, get used to it.

This organization has done NOTHING in 35 years so why the hell do you think we\'d go after a QB that actually has some promise.

I still think Ramsey could be a darn good QB. People here think AB has had it hard behind our line. Look at what Ramsey has had to deal with. That line makes ours look like Pro Bowlers. Plus, that team has been in constant turmoil since he\'s been there. He\'ll be good for someone. I\'d love it to be us.

But then, he played at Tulane. That\'s too much like a home-town boy, and we know that Brooks can\'t have one of those behind him. Oh well, it was a nice thought Danno.

They said on ESPN that Ramsey was going to be Gibbs man this year. It wasn\'t that he was down on Ramsey I think that he just expectedso much more from Brunell last year and that max protect offense and it flopped. I just can see them trading him this year unless it during training camp.

This \"Redskins want Jason Campbell\" thing sounds a bit too drummed up for me. It was all over ESPN radio today, especially on Dan Patrick\'s show. Mortensen was quick to point out that the Redskins made the draft picks trade shortly after returning from a lengthy visit with Campbell ... so I guess the evidence is there. But unless this is a smokescreen, the Redskins have done an awfully bad job of keeping a lid on things.

There\'s still alot of buzz surrounding Campbell, and he seems to be rising up some people\'s draft boards (I\'m seeing him pop up in the lower first round more often). After watching him play in college, I\'m still a bit puzzled about it, but I guess the NFL scouts know more than I do...

Matt Jones just doesn\'t seem to make sense as a \"Joe Gibbs\" type of player. Then again, neither did Clinton Portis, so who knows? I\'m still curious to see how an NFL team plans to use him ... he\'s one heck of an athlete.

im with you ut on campbell. at the same time who knows about gibbs right now. im not sure the guy can get it done. not saying he cant but i dont think he is a sure thing like everyone else does. not on here either. media. he may have been a way to long. i think ramsey is pretty good.

I wouldn\'t. What has he done to impress anybody? Sure he\'s had an awful offensive line playing in front of him, but he has still made tons AB-like mistakes the past few years. And, he\'s not as athletic as AB. I would much rather have Brooks who has shown flashes of brilliance. I\'d like to see us try to get Aaron to be consistent with his good play, rather than bring in a less-athletic Patrick Ramsey who hasn\'t done jack-squat.

Well said Ramsey is not better than Brooks. Ramsey would be a downgrade. He may push Brooks to do better though.

Ramsey has NEVER had the offense AB has had around him. He has been shell shocked since coming into the league with all the arse whippings his line has allowed him to take. He also never had the luxury of having a vet QB lead his team to a 7-4 record so he could coast into the playoffs. Brady is not as athletic as AB, neither is Peyton. Neither is Drew Brees. Neither is Jake. Neither is Favre. Neither is Bulger. They all seem to be doing okay. Brooks athleticism can go take a jump in the lake, where his football IQ has been since we got him. Ramsey IMO would do fine were he to come here, with a Joe Horn and a Deuce. His RBs year before last were Trung Canidate and Ladell Betts. His receivers? Gardner and McCareins and Jacobs. Coles seemed to do alright with him. Give AB those offenses and he would be worse than Ramsey was.

That\'s a good point blackwidows. Ramsey is a downgrade, but he might be able to push Brooks to be better. But would a back-up be worth a 4th rounder?

Whodi, I see your point about the Redskins not having as much talent as the Saints, but shouldn\'t such a good player be able to make his team better? Even if there isn\'t a whole lot of talent? i.e. Donovan McNabb before the acquisition of Terrell Owens

UM DEUCE, MCNABB HAS BEEN PLAYING WITH ONE OF THE BEST LINES IN THE GAME. I THINK HE IS A GOOD QB IN THIS LEAGUE. BUT HE ALSO HAS ONE OF THE BEST LINES IN THE LEAGUE. HE HAS BEEN OK. I WOULDNT SAY HE HAS DONE EVERYTHING WITH NOTHING

The Deuce, with Horn and Deuce, in what way has AB made this team BETTER? In any way? The only other QB to get a chance to play while AB was here was Jeff Blake, and he was 7-4 and headed to the playoffs. We have been mediocre since AB took over. Definitely not all his fault, but he has not made this team any BETTER with his \"talent and athleticism.\" So the expectation is a QB with a much less talented team should make his team better, while AB doesn\'t make our team any better? Is that fair?

Of course it\'s not a fair comparison because one guy has a lot more talent to work with (Brooks), but I still think that Ramsey isn\'t anything special. He just hasn\'t proven anything in this league. Just my opinion though.

While I\'m no AB hater I think it would take about 3 pre-season games and Ramsey would overtake Brooks.
Ramsey\'s got it. He just wasn\'t a good fit in Washington.
In fact, no one has been a good fit there in about 4 years.
Give Ramsey this offense and he\'d be Drew Brees with a better arm.

I happen to follow the Redskins because, up until last year I lived in DC for over a decade...

..what can you say about Ramsey... while under Spurrier, he was getting killed out there... every time I saw him play, I had Archie flashbacks...

...last year, once Brunnell was signed, he was delegated to basically water boy... so after Brunnell stunk the place up for 10 or so games, he again was put in the line of fire, and didn\'t look too good...

... I\'m hoping that Gibbs gives him the starting spot from teh get-go... he can be a good one...
