Re: Drew Brees leads Saints on to divisional round: Hard-fought win over Panthers sets up matchup vs. Vikings
Brees is definitely a game manager, and I do not mean that in a derogatory fashion. If we all donated a dollar to B&G every time Drew called "Kill, kill, kill" there would be a Martini bar and beer flowing from giant Fleur de Lis fountains.
Nearly every fan looks at their QBs pay and tries to rationalize that with passing stats, but few defensive leaders speak about other QBs like they do Drew.. Sunday wasn't Brees vs Newton, it was Brees vs Kuechly... a game of chess between formidable foes if you will, and Drew beat one of the best on the field defensive minds in the game today. I don't have WTF moments any more going for it on 4th or many of the bold plays called that are unexpected. My WTF mements come during double reverses and flat footed kickers keeping the ball ![]() |

Guess my expectation of Brees to have made a better play comes from how he's spoiled me and other fans... ...and referees rarely give us that call is why I question that spin; plus the sting of the ATL interception is still lingering... |
