Saints film room: Here's why the first game against the Vikings should be ignored
The schedule shows it happened this year.
Saints at Vikings. Week 1. New Orleans lost the game 29-19 on Sept. 11. It counted in the standings and everything. But that wasn’t the same team. Not on defense, at least. It’s hard to recognize this group, and that’s why the result should be thrown out. It won’t be the same game at 3:40 p.m. Sunday when New Orleans and Minnesota play in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs. Quarterback Sam Bradford and running back Dalvin Cook won’t play for the Vikings. For the Saints, safety Kenny Vaccaro, cornerback De’Vante Harris, linebackers Alex Anzalone and A.J. Klein and pass rusher Alex Okafor — all of whom logged a good amount of snaps in the opener — won’t be suiting up. Oh I'm sure everyone is watching film. Lots of film.

We are a totally different team. They have not changed much other than a QB heavy on spazism. He's a backup for a reason. People seem to forget why he's a starter by default. He's going to screw them over at some point. Have to have a Veteran at this stage.

If Minnesota has to rely on Keenum to win this game... |

I think the way the Saints come out of this game with a win is if they play average defense and can get more than 2 score lead by the 4th quarter and hope the Vikings dont rally. bottom line is this, if the Saints get knocked out, it only paves way for NE or Pitt to win. Because Minny, Philly, or Atl are not SB contenders, so its basically take care of business. |

You can't take any team lightly at this point any team is capable of winning the SB. This is were you sit back and enjoy the ride. Win or lose it was a great season and good to see where this team is headed. |

I don't think they hang 29 on us this time, even with all our injuries.
And I think we'll score more than 19 too. I'm not sure where that leaves us, but I like our chances. |

Like last season, Peat was a late start or relieved Armstead at Left Tackle who missed six and left two games... And Center Max Unger was just starting to play after a plantar fasciitis injury; he should have more push now... Not to mention that Ramczyk, who play'd well for his first game, will be an upgrade at Right Tackle... |
