The Seahawks signed veteran receiver Jerome Pathon, adding depth at the position less than a month after adding veteran Joe Jurevicius.

The three-year deal is in excess of $1 million a year.

Pathon, a former University of Washington standout, has 3,335 career yards receiving with 15 touchdowns. He spent the past three seasons with New Orleans, making 33 starts with 121 receptions for 1,682 yards and nine TDs.

He spent the first four seasons of his career in Indianapolis, after being the Colts' second-round draft pick, the 32nd overall selection, in 1998.

Good pick up for the SeaHawks, Decent salary. So it\'s time for STALLWORTH to FINALLY emerge hey!

Don\'t worry we\'ll all be like :o

One way or another?

Oh yeah, Devery will be good too.

I didn\'t like how Pathon would vanish for vast stretches, after having a good game. Devery gets to see the field, so I\'m happy

With Joe Horn, Donte Stallworth, and Devery Henderson, the Saints have to have the best trio of vertical threats in the NFL. I am really pumped about our WRs. Loads of talent, let\'s just hope that Donte remembers to bring his hands this season.

That\'s what I was really thinking. I\'m hoping the WRs can hold on to the ball. I like how Donte bulked up, and I\'ve seen him take big hits while holding the ball. Our WR and TE drops are disturbing to me. I assume to AB, also

How many teams have a Devery Henderson on the bench who will be their 3rd WR this year?

When this guy gets his hands on the ball ... teams had better watch out. I really think he will out-play Stallworth this year.

If he gets the routes down, and stops catching with his body, and gets the QB to look his way(had to throw that in ;) ) you very well could be right Gumbo.

:o That\'s a big pick. I\'ll keep it in mind with the Sully comments and we\'ll see how you do at the end of the season?

P.S It\'s possible because Stallworth could be hurt the whole season... You Never know? ;)

Not to open up this can again but, I assume it is disturbing to the receivers to be led into huge over the middle hits and to have balls thrown behind them over their heads or at their cleats.

Besides it isn\'t possible for this board to have a thread without a Pro-Brooks vs Anti-Leon debate.

LOL :D

I\'m not knocking your boy, StallworthFN.

I think Stallworth could have a monster year. I think Stallworth would have had a much better year last year if our offensive line would have blocked better.

But, just the same, I really like Devery.

PS -- I made no prediction on Jonathan Sullian. Other than saying I hoped he finally lived up to expectations.

If you think I said Sully was going to be a stud this year, then you have me confused with someone else. ;)

I hear you. Actually I\'m serious too when I say you could be right, it\'s just a BIG prediciton! :o

Too be honest I love the fact that we\'re debating about which receiver will have a bigger year because it shows our depth!

I don\'t know too much on Gardner but I hear he\'s a SPEEDSTER too so let\'s get him in the mix too. The competition could do STALL some good .

Can\'t wait to see it! :)

P.S I retract my Sully comments then. ;)

Slow down FN. No need for retractions just yet.

Yeah, I suppose you\'re right. I don\'t mind telling anyone that I have high hopes for Sullivan this year. I know the kid has the talent. I also know he\'s young and has made some mistakes.

At least we\'re talking about a guy who has worlds of potential instead of someone who lacks it.

Because of that, I\'m excited about the possibility of Sullivan stepping up.
:o
Excited about a player who has done nothing stepping up? Stepping up to what? Trash as opposed to crap? Junk as opposed to trash? Merely serviceable as opposed to a total waste?

Thanks for backing me up, saintwhodi.

Like I said ... I made no statement saying that Sullivan was going to live up to expectations.

I obviously said .. I HOPED Sullivan was going to step up.

And I have high hopes that he will indeed step-up.

But, if he doesn\'t ... I will not be surprised.

Sure it is. Personally, I\'m really trying to ignore shots at AB , which will pop up at any given topic. It\'s been so hard, though...

I am not the biggest Brooks fan but if you look at from his point of view, he is probably thinking that an off target throw doesnt matter because chances are, they wouldnt have caught it anyway. Think about the numbers he could have put up if his recievers would have given him any help at all.
No doubting the talent we have at WR, but funny how they dont get knocked as much as Brooks when they drop about 6 balls per game.

Nice. ;) I am just messing with you though. It\'s useful to keep me from jumping off the nearest bridge because of draft anxiety. Seems like everyoen is doing something but us.

P.S. Still gotta keep you on your toes.

As an impartial observer I would not in any way categorize Billy\'s comments as predictions but rather as hopeful that Jelly Belly will produce something.
Hope may be all we have for the interior d-line as no moves have been made there.

I leave that to the undisputed Masters: WhoDat vs Billy.

Back to the original idea of this thread, I think that our receivers could have a huge impact this year. And also, to all of you haters of AB out there, consider that some of the incompletions that you see on his stat line are due to the disturbing amount of drops by our receivers. True, Brooks has made some of the stupidest mistakes ever (backwards 20 yard pass?) but I have watched so many games where AB has put his throws right on the receivers on third downs, and the ball has just gone right through their hands. Now that can\'t help his confidence. I have come to the point where I know that AB isn\'t going to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but I do think that if our receivers started catching the ball, that he could be consistent and solid. This will probably make a lot of people say \"what is this guy thinking?!?!?!\" but I still think AB can be the guy for us. Have some faith in the guy!

I really, REALLY wish some of you guys were around for the AB debates. I really do. Anyone know Seattle\'s receivers dropped FAR FAR more balls than ours did? Anyone see Seattle beat us down first game of the year and then make the playoffs? Anyone wanna tell Matt Hasselbeck, who had to watch another one of his receivers drop a game winning TD IN THE PLAYOFFS about poor AB\'s dropped passes? Please. AB throws FAR more terrible passes than his receivers drop good ones. Don\'t do this to me guys. We are two days from the draft andmy rehab was going so well. Danno, where ya at bud? I need some cynicism to get me back ont he right track.

I don\'t know about cynicism but how about SARCASM?

OK here goes.....

\" Maybe our receivers drop the ball because brooks has been blessed with the perfect QB body and A CANNON for an arm! \"

Tell me how do catch a Cannon?

Just a reminder...I like Brooks, but this is fun! ;)

I remember the Hawks had the same problem , but Deuce still sums up my feelings. The Hawks WRs dropping FAR FAR more passes would be a stretch, though.

Don\'t forget all the false starts and plays called back that throw a QB out of wack.

Beerman will get more playing time than Henderson. He played much more conistently at reciever last year and my bet is he\'ll become the number three guy for the Saints next year. The addition of Willians from SF and his league leading punt return yardage are the key thing that makes this happen.

OMG!!! Are you guys spawning? What QB are ya\'ll watching? And making excuses for him? My head is about to go :killtard: I quit. Brooks is the best thing we could ever have hoped happen to our offense, and anyone who thinks different is clinically insane. I give up cause to go back and pull all the info that proves these statements false, in th context of similar teams who overcome these problems, was taxing enough back then. It\'s amazing though these same arguments seem to make the rounds whenever the AB debates die down.

Nice point!

OK Take Stall, Henderson, Gardner, and the Beerman as 2nd, 3rd and 4th receivers, Line them up against any other 4 some of WR in the league, Does anybody match up on sheer speed! :o

I kinda wonder if they are expecting Lewis to step up more. (with the signing of that CB thats good at returning punts)
(and Stecker returning kickoff\'s).
I thought ML did a good job at receiver last year. (good hands, fast, can take a hit)
Even if DH does beat him at #3 then, with ML at #4 WR, could you imagine the speed.
