2011 Saints @ 49ers - The Sequel
And I thought one dose of hell on earth was sufficient for a lifetime...
Sucks to be a Saints fan right now. Done with NFL until next season - will be working on overcoming 2017's ulcer. |

Typical Saints...
Finding new ways to blow it... Oh well, I'm also done watching... Won't be catching the SB. Few key additions in the off season and they'll be back. |

If the Iggles and Jags make it I will check the score on my phone at the end and hope the Jags won.
If it's drag queens and cheatriots then I'll find out when I see the order if teams picking on draft day. |

Resilience and determination. Cornerstone of the Saints 2017 season. If you can’t appreciate all this team accomplished despite the odds maybe you should leave forever.

Re: 2011 Saints @ 49ers - The Sequel
I think we can all appreciate what the team did. They could have folded tent at 17-0 or at 0-2 early in the season.
I also think if I'm so pissed off I could spit nails and don't give a rats rectum about the NFL anymore until the Saints are playing again that there's nothing wrong with that. I'm a Saints fan, not a Roger Goodell's NFL fan... |

The Saints can cry about injuries and take moral victories if they want to, but they lost to a team with a journeyman backup at QB. Both teams had excuses. I'm glad I checked out from the NFL, because I would have been pretty disgusted by that ending. Nice year, but you gotta let people air out their frustration for a few days. If you can't, then maybe you think too highly of yourself and the team. |

Re: 2011 Saints @ 49ers - The Sequel
I'm fine if we compete and lose. First 2 games, first Atlanta game, loss at end of season with title on the line at Tampa. What I'm not fine with is playing scared. The offensive line and Ingram showed up in the first half. The rest of the O including Drew played scared and that I refused to watch. First Saints game I have tuned out of in my life. The last time I saw us play that way was when the Ravens dominated us in 07 or 08. Fight and lose no problem. Play like a chicken and that's a huge problem.

Re: 2011 Saints @ 49ers - The Sequel
It felt very much like San Fran 2011. In some ways it was worse, in some ways better. If you were just watching as a fan of the NFL, wow what a game. But hey, as bad as this one stings, who'd have thought we'd even have taken a lead (oh wait, that kind of makes it worse).
I smashed my Cox remote. Embarrassing, yes. I couldn't change the channel after the game, and went to Cox today w/ my tail tucked between my legs. But then I think about how Drew must feel (Happy Birthday, by the way), or How Marcus Williams must feel. Or better yet, how Atlanta must feel (At least yesterday's game wasn't the SB). It felt like my g/f dumped me last night and I woke up this morning reminded that it wasn't a bad dream. I imagine Vikings fans woke up feeling like they had won the lottery. It's what we love about sports. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat. |

If I want to offer an opinion, that's my business. My problem with you, is the same problem I have with a couple of others who are often going around telling people to go away, or that they aren't fans, because they aren't pumping sunshine. You made a comment to me earlier about some fans being passionate. You're right, they are. So why do you jump on them? And if you are wondering why it "matters" to me, it's because while I was still supporting the team I got the same treatment. It's an elitist "I'm better than you" attitude that gets under my skin. Perhaps I shouldn't let it. But I do. Because you can disagree with someone without telling them off. That sort of thing is not how adults speak to each other. You've taken my opinions which were directed at no one but the league, and treated them as an attack on the entire board. I've made a point of not bringing up who is or is not boycotting. |

I can take losing. It's losing against all odds that gets to me.
