Williams threw the game

Is what ignorant people are posting. He is one of the main reasons we got as far as we did. Made a mistake but it happens.
I guess Colston was trying to throw the game in Seattle a few years back when he stayed in bounds late in the 4th.
Apparently he dropped to his knees in the Locker room and cried. I hope the team rallies around him.

that was my one complaint. when it got to the point of 10 seconds send one extra guy at least, dont give them the time to even get downfield.

What happen sucks but he's been great this year. He's got a bright future here with us as long as he doesn't let this screw with him mentally. There are a lot of people saying a lot of ugly things about him on social media. You've got to feel bad for him. At the end of day, it's just a game... unless you're a degenerate gambler that is.

Had we not committed that lame third down call or continually, unsuccesfully, try to run up the middle, we would have probably scored a TD to go up 21-20. Then if we held vikings to what we held them to the rest of the way, good chance we are kneeling at the end.

Williams must feel awful, he should.

We’ll see how he bounces back next year.

He should be proud of what he accomplished all year to help the leagues wirst secondary nearly make the NFCCG

I’ll bet he’s better next year.

Checked up to avoid PI which would have put them in FG range. I don't blame him one bit. Too bad he ran into Crawley in the process, might have been a shot at catching him but diggs is a burner.

A rookie made a mental error. Vaccarro's presence would've been golden right there I must admit.

I hope he gets back at it, but this moment could easily define his career forever. If he lets it eat at him he’ll never get better, if he gets better and plays at a pro bowl level he might overcome. Just such a bad play that I wouldn’t have expected from him.

Vikings don’t deserve the win, I predict they get handled by the eagles and the eagles then get embarrassed in the SB.

Crawley looked like he was making no effort for that tackle. He should have been in the air diving for Diggs and he wouldn’t have gotten caught up with Williams in the first place. This is a very disappointing night.

@Alex_Flanagan
#saints Rookie safety Marcus Williams feel to his knees on his way to locker room after his missed tackle cost saints the game and then inside the locker cried with his head in his hands.

Come on. He's a rookie facing one of the best WR's in the game. Diggs is a monster. If not for him and the rest of the rookie class we would be looking at another 7 W's. They won us a lot of games to include last week. All I know is either them or the Eagles are going to get smoked by the Pats to the point of embarrassment. They can have it because that is all anyone will remember about this season.

No reason to be blaming Crawley. He did his job and more. Those PI calls were a joke! He is the reason Williams was able to get that interception cuz he jumped the route and Keenum tried to throw it over his head. The play he was trailing like he suppose to be doing, Williams just should've grabbed him and held him from going out of bounds.

Williams is young and with the locker room standing beside him, he should be alright. He played a helluva rookie season and I am very hopeful for our team next year with him as starter

This stuff happens to even the best players, the Vikes just pulled a magic rabbit out of the hat.

That said, I would have some serious questions for Dennis Allen.
Where was the deep safety, who should have been standing near the Goal Line?

But if Minnesota win the SB that play will be forever played. I hate it but if Vikings happen to make it to the SB, I will have no choice but to be a Patriot's fan for that day(regurgitating as I type it)

It pains me to say it as well but if it's Pats vs Vikes I'll be rooting for the Pats. Ugh, that hurts just saying it but you're right, if they win the SB that play will be replayed forever.

im rooting for Pats like last year against ATL.

Its because Philly or Minny has no business in the SB and one of them is going to be there.

Re: Williams threw the game

Several factors came in to play. Luck, Luck, Luck, Duck and Cover Maneuver and Luck. Did I say luck? We were the better team and even in the first half you could see it. Any other team playing that crappy would've been down 35 to 0.

William was the deep safety coming up to make the play. It's back to basic technique, keep your head up to make a tackle, period.

Re: Williams threw the game

I have no problem with the play call at the end of the game defensively. There where two players in position to make the play and Williams screwed up and prevented Crawley from having a chance at the tackle by taking his legs out. I still wouldn't trade Wiliiams for any other young FS in the league. He has been a beast this year.

How about he just lets him catch the ball and tackles him? I certainly blame him, but don't think he threw the game.

This one is going to burn for awhile. It was just inexperience that caused that mental error. Thats where Vaccaro was missed and in all honesty I was thinking that maybe Bush should have been on the field. Hopefully he is able to recover from this and does not have a sophomore slump because of it.

Re: Williams threw the game

The way I see it, Williams screwed up. I’ve been *****ing about frikkin shoulder tackles for years. It pisses me off big time to see a defender throw a shoulder tackle without even trying to wrap up the ball carrier.

That said, Williams didn’t single handedly lose this game. The Saints, as a team, had 59 minutes, and 56 seconds of game time to affect the outcome of this game. The offense and defense squandered an entire half dicking around with no offense and no defense. Anybody who blames this game on one man and one play with 4 seconds left on the clock need to go back and rewatch the entire game.
