I recently finished concussion protocol training for rugby. I am much more aware of the damage done to the brain after a concussion. Every competitive athlete wants to keep playing and strict rules should be in place to protect the athlete from themselves.

In retrospect as a rugby referee in the past I let players dictate how they felt and when I asked one young player how many fingers I was holding up he replied green....so I let him play.

I've had my share of concussions and hope that I keep my wits about me but if not my brain goes to science and then cremate my remains. It's serious stuff I scoffed at not too long ago. Drew would not let his son play football and I would let my son play rugby only long enough to understand the concept and then to move into refereeing or coaching and still stay involved with the sport.

I would like to see them do tests on brains from entertainers who have done themselves in...
