Saints position outlook: New Orleans could add talent across the defensive line

Tyeler Davison had an overall grade of 81.0 (0 Sk, 22 Tk), followed by David Onyemata 80.9 (2 Sk, 18 Tk), then Sheldon Rankins 80.7 (2 Sk, 16 Tk)...

Cam's gotta have more help than that...

This could be the breakout guy to sign and shore up the interior...

Keep your eye on Trey Hendrickson in season 2.

Imagine how much better we would have been with Fairley playing like he did the year before. I would pursue this position in FA and the draft. Jim Finks was a big proponent of getting big uglys . God doesn't make many big guys that can move . When you can get one you should. Football is won tackle to tackle

Ngata to help with the interior?

Yeah, being a mid-round pick, he needed more time to adapt to game speed, get stronger...

Really, really like him since his interviews during the pre-draft scouting process; and he should take the helm opposite Cam this season...

But in a four-man front, you've got to be a minimum 6 deep there (Eagles, Patriots showed this); and we're still two-three away there...

For the Nose, I'd like to draft guys like Vita Vea, Harrison Phillips, Tim Settle or B.J. Hill...

For the DT3 I really like Taven Bryan, he can play everything and even the NT on passing downs...

Another mid-round pick like Miami's Chad Thomas to back up, tutelage, and spell Cam Jordan would be a great pick in the third round if he's still there...

We're better, but we need depth at all four positions on the defensive line to make a serious Title Run...

He's pretty old now and wasn't that impressive against NFL North competition...

If Onyamata, Davison and Rankins continue to develop we have a good young core of players.....but they all still need that space eater like Fairley gave us last year. I don't know if the draft or free agents is the way to go though. I know we will probably sign mostly 2nd tier free agents and then address the needs again at the draft. It all depends on the Saints big board and how they view their needs.

If Alex Okafor can come back strong we should be fine at DE especially with last years two draft picks still learning the ropes.

I hope Okafor will still have that burst. I'm just not so sure he'll be the same player.

There’s a very good chance he would have to start the season on the PUP as well.

They're development is gonna have to leap this off-season in terms of production, but I'm not counting on it...

We've got to find an impact, productive DT3 for starters and Rankins is just not producing like a DT you take that high...

It’s been rumored that Robert Quinn of the Rams is on the trade block. He was dealing with injuries the last two seasons so his numbers were down but he came on strong toward the end of the season with 7 sacks in their last 7 games. This is a pretty weak draft class for edge rushers.

They're two or three graded right where we're picking in both the first and third rounds...

Vea or Payne would be my choices. Big space eaters that can collapse the pocket and are able to hold the point of attack. Vea is compared to Ngata.

Cam Jordan proved he could beat numerous double teams last season, imagine him playing next to a space eater like Vea. Cam Jordan one on one with any offensive lineman? Yes please.

And he’s been traded to the Dolphins. That would’ve been a nice pick-up.
