Marcus Peters some thoughts
Marcus Peters is a exceptional talent and somewhat of a headcase. I get the reason that KC would be looking to move him. From a salary viewpoint he would be a bargain at 1.7 mil and a fifth year option. Teaming up with our current DBs will be formidable. IMHO our locker room is well equipped to handle a troublesome difference maker. I would be willing to rent him for two years for a 3rd pick. Thoughts Ideas ?

Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
I’d give up a 1st for a talent like Peters.

Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
Talent wise there are few better out there. Having him and Lattimore would be awesome.

Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
Let's see here ... Peters has a career record in INT's (1st two years), young, cheap & a flat out dawg. If the ball is in his area, he'll probably take it from a WR. I see Peters not so much a "head case" but a competitor. He competes on every play, just need to bottle up some of his emotions. QB's fear Peters ability .. pick 6 ability on any given play.
In a way, I think he would fit in New Orleans. Only issue I have is compensation. A first? ... IDK .. maybe throw in a player (PJ Williams) & a 3rd rounder. Marcus improves this secondary. Side note - I don't think Delvin Breaux is the answer in New Orleans. |
Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
Yeah I don't see us giving up a 1st.
But... I have full faith in our scouting department after what they have been doing so whatever the hell they decided I am on board with it. |

While fun banter, the price is too high. And there will be a new contract to deal with sooner than later. We can dream nonetheless to have a Peters/Lattimore backfield which would probably be second to none. And why would KC get rid of him anyway? |
Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
Maybe he peed in Andy Reids Wheaties.

Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
No way! He is a cancer to any team that pick him up

Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
Talent is undeniable.
Emotions, antics and decisions are concerning. |
Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
do not need anyone messing with the chemistry. We just rid ourselves of a bunch of headcases that kept us in perpetual 7-9 hell....no thanks. Plus, I think sean and company learned that lesson because they're making different decisions.

Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
Not much....
On October 27, Peters was fined $9,115 for a helmet hit on Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr in the 31–30 loss.[13] During Week 13 against the New York Jets, Peters threw a penalty flag into the crowd while the Jets were trying to convert on a 2-point conversion. His teammate, Steven Nelson was flagged for defensive holding prior to this incident, and Peters was also flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for throwing the flag of side judge Keith Washington into the crowd; the holding penalty was accepted while the unsportsmanlike penalty was declined. Peters was seemingly ejected, but instead retreated to the locker room and later returned to the field. Peters did not play for the remainder of the game as the Jets won 38–31.[14] For the incident during the game against the Jets, the Chiefs announced on December 6 that Peters would be suspended for the next game.[15] Three days after the suspension was announced, it was revealed that Peter's suspension also was the result of an argument he got into with an unnamed coach for the Chiefs. For this incident in the Jets game, he was also fined $24,309 by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct.[16] He returned in Week 15 against the Chargers, and recorded two interceptions on Philip Rivers in a 30-13 win, earning him AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Re: Marcus Peters some thoughts
I'm not going to try and dissect every little "incident" MP has done in his life but I do see a bad marriage in KC w him and Andy Reid.
Sometimes change is good though. |

MP is still on his rookie contract. "If" he is brought in (I seriously doubt), he is essentially cheaper than a FA like Kyle Fuller & Malcolm Butler types. His cap # in 2018 is 3M. Then factor in the 5th year option ... all this means is on a 2 year deal he is ridiculously cheap for that level of talent. Just my .02 cents ;). Carry on. |

Lambs just got better in the secondary.
They also come to the dome in 2018. |

I got lots of Chief fans in my neck of the woods, I wonder what they are getting in return.

Chiefs called every team in the league on Marcus Peters
According to Peter King of SI.com, the Chiefs called every team in the league while shopping the high-profile (for good or for ill) cornerback, but 28 of those teams either said no thanks or offered nothing of any value. Chiefs called every team in the league on Marcus Peters – ProFootballTalk |
