DE Muhammad Wilkerson... should we?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Wilkerson would be a huge signing. Who the hell wanted to play for the Jets? They have sucked for so many years. Motivation is a big thing for guys like Mo, they already have the money, if he wants to ...

If we get a motivated Wilkerson he can be a beast.

Perhaps the Saints didn't want to offer him anything after speaking with him. It is a two way street after all. He does come with quite a bit of "extra baggage".

Repeating myself from BG Blog, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder what kind of fit he'd be as he's played in a 3-4?

Or his agent isn't in the negotiating phase yet. I've seen high profile agents in the past make numerous visits, then negotiate later. I think the term is called "meet and greet".

I'll trust the FO on whatever happens with this dude (not a fan of Mo) .

He's pretty versatile and has played inside and out.

I'd be surprised if he signed early with anyone as he is the epitome of a wild card. Market will set the price, but I could see him getting a very wide range of offers.

If he wants an incentive-laden deal like Sherman, I'd take him.

March 12-14: Clubs are permitted to contact, and enter into contract negotiations with, the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2017 player contracts at 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 14. However, a contract cannot be executed with a new club until 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 14.

Muhammad Wilkerson doesn't fall under that since he was released by the Jets. That only applies to UFA's who are still under contract until March 14.

Right contract and I'm all in. Big risk big reward. Motivation is the key. Motivated he is a difference maker. How much does he want it????
