So someone has to ask... future of the Saints in Nola

So has Gayle said what she plans to do going forward? She’s no business woman and I doubt she knows much about runnIng an NFL franchise. To be fair neither did Benson, he had only attended one game in his entire life. He wasn’t looking at football, he was looking at the red and black on a ledger and had the vision to see a great investment.
Does Gayle want to bother? Can she maintain the lifestyle she’s accustomed too or would it be easier for her to cash out.
I don’t know of anyone else with interest in Louisiana that has the capitol Benson had.

If she meant what she said in her open letter she knew what Mr. Benson wanted and it was for the team to stay in NO. Hopefully she honors his wishes.

Don't worry I will take one for the team when the time comes.

I mean she is single technically...

Gayle ain't going anywhere and I think she's hot and would marry her in a heart beat but I love Mr Benson so probably not.

I was thinking the same thing. I’m sure their invested in NO so no moving anytime soon but wasn’t she wanting to move them in the past to San Antonio? I may be mistaken but I thought that’s what the argument with the kids stated over

From what I heard Tom has been grooming her for this very moment. Contrary to what you say, she was a business woman before she even met Benson. I heard an interview with Strief today on NFL Radio and they asked him if Gayle was involved with the team. He said Tom was always very involved and he was never seen without Gayle. She was right there with Tom on everything.

Gayle has that capital, the experience AND the desire. This is why Tom wanted to cut the others out of the picture. He was probably concerned they would ditch the team.

Everyone who has commented about "Ms Gayle" has had nothing but glowing things to say. She's from the area. Tom has been prepping her for this time. Tom removed his kids from the equation, I believe, for this very moment.

I think she will sell eventually - and I think she will make it contingent on the teams staying where they are.

Of course I could just be blowing smoke, but that's how things appear to me right now.

Back in the days after Katrina I seem to remember Ms Gayle was a big influence in keeping the Saints in New Orleans.
At the time San Antonio was a strong contender for ripping the team away.

I don't put too much faith in her at this point. Sorry, I don't think she's been "prepped". She's gonna sell the team IMO.

You know Ms Gayle is 68 and she is very attractive, if she was smart
and I know she is, she should stay single and enjoy her life. Between
the teams and all of us Who Dat's we'll keep her busy.

No. I really think she want to keep control. Why would she let it go if she loves it and it makes money?

Eventually. Does she have anyone to leave the team to? It's my gut feeling she will sell eventually, but I don't think it'll happen soon. I mean in years to come.

Probably, but she is young and may outlast many of us.

Yeah, well, the good thing about Tom Benson not knowing anything about football when he bought the team was he let their people do their job. An owner who thinks he knows football can be a dangerous thing too.

Being involved with the team and knowing the business end of things are two totally different animals.

Because she can sell it and make A LOT of money and buy all kinds of things she loves that doesn’t require her to have 2 billion dollars tied up in.

She has more money than she can ever spend in the rest of her life without selling the franchises. Chill out! Wow!

No, you (one) CAN absolutely worry over something in which you have no control. It just won’t change anything so why bother worrying.

Does the contract keep them in new Orleans no matter what?

Re: So someone has to ask... future of the Saints in Nola

so, sell to whom, and move to where?
96% attendance or above for 10 straight seasons, 10 million a year from Mercedes, 5 million a year from the state (unheard of), plus a share of big events: NCAA's, Super Bowl

absolute cash cow, IF the Saints stay here

Everything is as it is for the short term for now. Good enough. Win Saints. Win Pelicans.

No. She has no children from her previous marriage or marriages. He had no heirs after 2015. She has a brother and his wife. Nieces, nephews? Don’t know if she has any.
The T and GB Foundation will live forever. I assume there is one.
I agree she will selll these pieces , Pelicans, Saints, of her companies one day in order to set all in their foundation while she is still healthy and alive.

Who knows.
All of her companies are as they are for now.

No.

She has all material things she wants and needs from her Channel suits to whatever. So far , she is in good health and is on the younger side of senior citizenship.
I do not think she is interested in ,ohhh, America’s Cup, buying an airline, buying a network, etc.Lol. Oh, she does own a tv station though.

She needs to and wants to keep her husbands legacy, name out there in the business world in all of his companies. Her sports teams are two small companies because all of her companies are hughe things and make up the whole thing.

I trust her statement to the people of this region about her sports ‘ teams.

Everything is as is for the here and now.
