Ive never really cared about the whole "LSU players to Saints" controversy... Mostly because no one is upset that only 54% of this LSU roster are native Louisianians.

Football - Rosters - LSUsports.net - The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics

I suspect, and this only my attempt to apply logic to not drafting instate players if that is indeed a practice... Having a 250-300 mile DMZ for drafts helps to ensure that when draftees show up, they can focus and dont have hometown baggage on their mind...

This is true. The further away from their "homies" or "posses" the better for some of these players.

never saw the connection / issue and chalk it up to coincidence

for every case made for the LSU guy we missed you can look at 3 we skipped and got a better player. And you can say the same thing about every player ever taken.
How many LSU guys were taken before Brady lasted until he 6th round, or Colston in the 7th, or Nicks in the 5th?

I will say there some pretty funny posts on that Twitter feed.

LSU fan says,"LSU has THE MOST players in the NFL and the Saints have zero of em. Cmon." It's a fair complaint. The Falcons and Bucs each have 2 LSU LBers. I'm not saying reach. Im just saying if there is a situation where it is a toss up, go with the Tiger. Perfect example was Vaccarro over Eric Reid. Vaccarro 6ft 4.6 40. Reid 6"2 4.6 40. Many ex Tigers say the best safety ever at LSU. Either him, Chad Jones or Laron Landry. The fans deserve another Hokie Gajan(RIP Hoss), Dalton Hilliard, Eric Martin.......etc. This year there are a bunch of Tigers I'd love. I guarantee you we could select a Tiger with every selection and have a great draft. I'm gonna chart which LSU players are available with each Saints pick this year and follow how each Tiger we miss compares to the guy we get. Plus, bring in more LSU undrafted free agents. I think there will be a couple or a few this year. And they are guys worth looking at. Russel Gage-probably wont get drafted and a great tough athlete. I see a Golden Tate tyoe WR. Darrel Williams RB might not get drafted(4.7 40). Super tough runner 235+lbs and led the team in catches. Think Khiry Robinson with outstanding hands who blocks like a FB. Kevin Tolliver-project player who shouldve stayed in school. Outstanding physical tools. Gotta put em together. Very possible free agent. Will Clapp-one of the SECs best O linemen last yr, a phenominal run blocker who can play guard and center. 3rd-7th rd pick. Donte Jackson-4.31 40. I dont love him but 5th rd or later, fastest player in the draft. Why not? Christian Locotoure led all SEC D lineman in tackles. Possible free agent. Derrius Guice wont be there at 27 or the league is nuts and if hes is there at 27 u gotta take him. Dont tell me what position we need more. Derrius Guice will be another Deuce McCallister. We drafted Deuce with Ricky Williams on the team who just ran for 1500yds and that worked out and if we pass on DJ Chark in the 3rd, Ill go crazy. Chark had more receiving yds than Mike Thomas their last yrs in college and is more athletic than Randy Moss was and he was a team captain at LSU-a very high character guy who would fit perfectly next to Mije Thomas plus he is a sensational punt returner and a ferocious run blocker. On a bunch of Guices long runs Chark was manhandling a corner, blocking him out the play. I love how the Advocate article names 2 guys from Ohio State who worked out so it's supposed to win this argument. One of our semi recent drafts like 2015 or 2016 or something doesnt have a guy left. Peyton is a great coach but drafting before last year was not his thing. Get me some dang Tigers!

You lost it after that first line...
